  • you look a bit like shields

  • What happened to the sync???

  • not the guitar style of kevin shields but still great

check out my bands music, id love the feedback

  • Amazing how you managed to make Loomer sound like a song written by an amateur songwriter. A for effort and you seem like a nice guy but there's no way that's the right tab and you're not the best singer..

  • @Zerrith at least he tries and is passionate about the music instead of being a total dick and harping on others for what they think isn't "up to their standards"..

  • My favorite album is Pink Moon, and Loveless comes in 2nd. I swear if you covered Loveless and released it, that could be my favorite album lol

  • Excellent

  • Excellent

  • You really did this song justice. Great cover.

  • cool, 5 stars

  • Really nice version even though the sound quality isn't the best

  • bob nostanavich pavement!!!!!

  • @09prizefighter09 Haha, they really are lookalikes!

  • Great job.

  • really amazing

  • WOW :) i love my bloody valentine and people rarely do their songs justice- because it's so hard to get the sound right but made it your own and it was cool. GOOD JOB! :)

  • Dude you´re even better then you were in Mex.

This is awsome, you should do a cover on Jose Gonzales - Heart Beats, well the original is from the Knife. but yeah you should, suits you dude.

    Awsome!

  • i have never commented on anything before on youtube, but your covers are absolutely incredible! fellow MBV junkie here, and it's really unbelievable just how well these songs stand up without the overwhelming sheen of noise. thanks for making me discover even MORE about the band who made me listen to music differently in the first place.

and what's this about you recording an album??

  • loomer <3

  • Fucking quality

  • hey.

just felt the need to post that your MBV covers are really great. Kudos

  • my bloody valentine lullabye

  • this is awesome man... tab?

  • Nice interpretation. I love MBV but I didn't realize how good that song really was.

  • That was great

  • I really enjoyed this.

  • Wow.. Amazing. I can't believe I'm hearing this acoustic.

  • yes, your comment is awful :P

  • Fucking great. I really like how you arrange the songs into these covers. You take the furious loudness out of those songs and replace them with an enjoyable softness. Good job.

  • taking the loudness out of it removes alot of the magic.... skilled player here, but MBV was so maverick because they combined loudness without resorting to abrassiveness. the overwhelming emotional WASH of sound is part of the whole experience.

  • I dunno about that, I think his interpretation is just a nice alternative to the definitive recordings. These covers have an almost Nick Drake-esque quality to them

  • Nick Drake covering some MBV. WOW. If only...

  • nice voice =)

  • nice work my friend.

  • man, i never thought i'd ever hear a cover of this.

    it's really good.

    thanks.

  • amazing, u rock.

  • couldn't disagree more. falsetto and able to maintain notes without variance or cracking, or and intended fluctuation at all is pretty fucking good. you might not like his style, but he's executed his style flawlessly. I want him to make an entire album of MBV covers so i could listen to it when im not sitting at youtube. the guitar is more than okay. his translation of MBV into acoustic guitar is miles beyond impressive. your comment is the equiv. of an ignorant person screaming "duh you suck"

  • actually i changed the voicings slightly for my version. for example i use the 9th on top every now and then. aside from that i play a 5th in the bass every other IV chord of the chorus, therefore it is slightly different than the way kevin shields arranged it.

  • wow, your username encapsulates perfectly what you are

  • What a clever and original attempt at an insult.

  • Way to reply to criticism.

  • very impressive... What MBV need to do now they're back together is release Loveless again but this time strip it of all of the fuzz (not that there's a single tiny thing wrong with the fuzz on loveless) and strip it to acoustic instruments. It would be interesting to see how all of the blurred elements of that album come together...

  • can you tab this?

  • yes, please tab this. your interpretation is wonderful and i would love to play the song this way.

  • dude, this is awesome!!! i love the way you stripped away all the layers of MBV guitar fuzz (not that i don't absolutely love it) to reveal this beautiful tender tune that is at the core. thank you for sharing this, thank you, thank you! now i go to watch more of your covers.

  • special guy.

  • good job man, nice playing.. MBV rocks

  • i wish you had a track i could put on my mp3 player or something.

it's really incredible with what you've done with these shoegazing classics.

    top drawer.

  • got to admit never impressed with covers on youtube but this s SUPERB!!!! have not seen MBV since Rollercoaster tour, got tickets for 2 gigs - this has made me even more excited... you've broken down the fuzz to unearth something pure and beautiful...

  • Open G?

  • tuned the high e to a d

  • Nice job man.

  • Good cover, i liked it.

  • this is absolutely amazing. love the song, original and your cover, and your voice kinda reminds me of nick drake. great job.

  • thank you sir!

  • is the best cover in the world, i love it, and i love your voice!!

  • lol you must be a friend of his.

  • This is my favourite cover on youtube

  • wow! what an honor. thank you so much!

  • I noticed it's almost the year anniversary... great cover... just wondering... what is the tuning for your version.

  • the high e is to d. thanx for the kind words!

  • D:<

  • dude, GTFO MY INTERBUTTZ! NAO! loser. why are you here? if you like a cover, how do you despise the band? play this and When You Sleep, and Soon on repeat. call me when you get your head out of your ass and your foot out of your mouth. i appreciate your honesty, but dont be so blunt!

  • you to drop d on string one instead of 6? nice! i love MBV so much. im 13 years old, and am lucky i grew up with my grandma and all the amazing seventies/eighties groups. being born in 1994, i eventually discovered The Smashing Pumpkins and alternative rock, leading to shoegaze, leading to MBV. so, yeah, i plan to try and cover this song one day. wish me luck!

  • good luck ! sounds like your on the right track

you better show me your version

  • will do! once i nail it...

  • definitely sounds like you're on the right path to NOT listening to shitty top 40 crap. good work, way to be a cool 13 year old!

  • thanks XD i basically avoid modern top 40 hits or anything that was majorly popular before 1998

    unless i really like it

  • that's exactly how I got into MBV. At about your age too. I remember listening to the thirty second sample of only shallow over and over again until I finally found a copy of loveless at sam goody. Then listening to the song in all its full glory for the first time on the car ride back. My mom thought they were weird. I'm 19 now.

  • Incredible job. It's ironic that you are playing MBV songs acoustic, in the same way that MBV plays these gentle pop songs at obnoxiously loud volumes. Do some more!

  • Obnoxious is the wrong word, the beauty in their songs is still there, you just have to look harder

  • i guess it was the wrong word, i should have said extremely loud. I've already found the beauty, it exposes itself through the gorgeous, gauzy, molten noise more and more every time i hear it.

  • You've got it right there :)

  • Really nice job. What tuning are you in?

BTW, your voice is great and the guitar playing is very clean. I don't know the song, but I love MBV.

  • the tuning is drop d on the high e string. kevin tuned the guitar this way.

  • i think its amazing that you were able to find out or at least guess the notes of that song...hell all i can really hear is abunch of beautiful noise and some singing in the background

  • I like your version! Good job, keep it up!

  • Magnifique !

  • Even thinking about covering a MBV song is very risky business, but you pulled it off beautifully! Congratulations!

  • this is beautiful

  • what kinda guitar is that?

  • I suggest you work out a set worth of these songs and have a my bloody valentine tribute concert, could generate some nice buzz. I for one would explode if i saw that poster on the street.

i badly want you to tab these songs out...

  • i shall work on it. as for the tabs i will try but i would suggest going to to here knows web and checking those tabs because what i am playing originated from those

  • Man your cover is great!!!,one of my favorite bands,I like what you did with it,beautiful!!!!

  • I've seen all your MBV videos and I think you're doing a terrific job on these songs. I love My Bloody Valentine and would love to cover their songs.

  • Your covers are incredible man. Keep up the excellent work!

  • For the record, Spektix is playing "Loomer" from Loveless. While it's probably not too hard to mess up, (It's one of the album's less dense songs), I say he does it justice.

  • Truly well done... Hope for the record.

  • Marvelous! Thank you so much for giving justice to a song from my all-time favorite pop-rock act, My Bloody Valentine! It's understandable that Kevin Shields and company are extremely tough to duplicate or much less surpass, but being able to belt out a version of the song especially your own is to me already enough of a tribute to such a true legendary band.=)

  • Real inspiring stuff :D.

  • Great cover!! Makes me hear the song in a brand new way which is always inspiring. Thank you

  • this is so wonderful. your voice is so beautiful here. my roomate really loved this video. i miss and love you.

    sammi

  • NICE WORK!!! Very interesting interpretation of such a layered, dense song. Great job stripping it down. Very bold.

  • Nice version I almost couldn't identify the song, but finally, after hearing well, I noticed that, yes, is To Here Knows When, but without "noise"

  • ahahaha.. its good to find good sense of humor.

  • Good job, I like your version of this excellent song. It retains the soothing qualities of the original but is, obviously, quieter. Cool.

  • Seriously could i like at least now what tunings some of these are in?? Do I have to beg?

  • kevin sheilds is shittin in his pants right about now..thinking yeah this fuckin guy has got it! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! it's like some unreleased tracs of the songs stripped of the distortion...who the hell is this guy..

  • this is absolutely lovely.

thank so so so very much, this is a gift to all us MBV fans.

Just a question but would it be at all possible for you to cover When You Sleep, Sometimes, What You Want, Off Your Face or Don't Ask Why?

I would be over the moon

  • AMAZING...

  • you are my hero of the month.

  • Very nice interpretation, proving there really is a nice song under all their lovely noise. I uploaded a noiseless marychain cover I did, but unlike you I can't play guitar.

  • it's my favorite song from My Bloody Valentine! I like your cover :)

  • It sounds different, but nice. I'm glad u made your own version... It sounds fine...

  • your mbv covers are excellent. your interpretations make me recall the style of mark kozelek. i've once recorded an acoustic cover of mbv's Cupid Come, but you've done a much better job with these songs here, than i did with that one.

  • well thank you ! if you have your version i would like to hear it

  • hahaa i was thinking the same

  • Here, you really get the trick: Kevin's open chords...

Never imagined MBV's song could sound so nice in an acoustic setting. ;)

  • yaah kenny thats really good, no joke

    PS this is kevin

  • that was lovely!

  • wow, very nice job dude. Im very impressed you managed to pull off a mbv song so well, kudos.

  • thanx a lot brother, i appreciate your encouragement.
