If you want your child to develop a talent you don't push them immeadetly in front of Simon Cowell. He is a tough judge. And apart from anything else Emma didn't look like she wanted to be there. Her parents even said that they pushed her to do this. I think their parenting is very irresponisble because by pushing her to do something she didn't want to do in the first place, and her failing at it, they have weakened her self esteem and no doubt made her social life (at school etc.) a night mare.

Ridiculous. What these people fail to understand is that they're looking for people that will SELL. Emma would not sell - if they're going to blame anything - blame human nature. I agree with what Simon said. Parents need to encourage their children to follow their dreams, yes. But when your child is no good at something, especially something like singing, you need to be realistic with them. He was nicer than some people in the music industry would be.
