Those are the exaggerated expressions of a stage actress (done so even the audience in the cheap seats can see). That was how she was used to performing, and apparently there was nobody involved with this production to tell her to "pull it back" for the TV camera.

To me this is the best kind of "disco" there is...not to hypnotic, loud and haunting...but light enjoyable...she's young she's innocent pearly whites and she's in love with the lord...and I think if disco would've promoted more of the young artists like Evelyn Champagne King and Stephanie Mills way before the closing of 70's and 80's rather than people of 25 and 30 singing "I love you but I'll die if you don't" disco would still be a dance that's mainstream today with new artists.

I remember hearing this song for the first time when I went disco roller skating in Carlingford, Sydney, when I was about sixteen. I fell in love for the first time that night and this song always reminded me of Lauren & the way I felt when she kissed me that night.
