2-count 'em-2 original scripts this week and one of them a period drama about samurai. (Makes you wonder if they were enticing Japanese investors.)

A nine year old sells a script-I find that encouraging. It confirms my belief that some producers are the stupidest link in the Hollywood food chain and you could sell them a pile of dogshit as long as they see a sequel and video game in it.

i still cant believe that a 9 year old has sold a script. i mean really there are so many talented writers out here and the studio buys a script written by a 9 year old.

It's an low-wattage deal, probably to get more press for the "books." From the exerpts I've read, the 9 y.o.'s advice is extraordinarily lame. If there's a movie in it, the plot would probably have to do with a little kid getting sucked into a corporate marketing plan that, ultimately, leads to him have sex with his 6th grade teacher, do steroids, file bankruptcy, land in rehab, emerge with a new lesbian girlfriend named "Sam" whom he "converts" to be hetero, and they live happily ever after.
