When I Think Of Cyndi Lauper.........I Forget About the World And Everything Around It, That's What I Think When I Think Of Cyndi Lauper, Oh Yeah. Thank You Cyndi You Have Been A Big Part Of My Life. Your Great. I Want To Meet You And Simply Just Shake Your Hand.
I love this song very much but the whole album "Hat Full of Stars" wasn't that great. I prefer "Sisters of Avalon". Anyway Cyndi was very overlooked and underrated in the 90's - just like Belinda Carlisle, Sandra, Laura Branigan, Samantha Fox, Taylor Dayne and Debbie Gibson
I saw her at Irving Plaza perform this whole album and she BLEW my doors off! I can't rave about her powerful stage presence enough. Hearing her recorded is one thing - but she is a force of nature on stage.
I remember when I first heard her Hat Full of Stars album and thought.. WHAT WAS THAT? I was expecting a pop album, then after I played it a second time, I was just floored at how great the songs are. She always had a great voice, but HFS is where I think it all came together. I LOVE this song!
I agree timtommery. I did not know why this song was a huge hit. This song's vibe reminds me of Joan Osbourne's "One of Us". they were both written by the same guy. Great songs. Cyndi is so underappreciated.
In 80-s I favoured Cyndi thinking she had great great voic and music and Madonna was already more popular but I did not understand why. I still do not.
I love this song! I always wondered why it didn't do better commercially. Actually, the album it's off ("Hat Full of Stars") is one of my favorites by Cyndi. Thanks for posting this. LOVE HER!
