but what is most interesting to think about is that the royal palace if they were still protecting her as an HRH would never have permitted drivers with drinking problems such as this. The lack of protection once she was ousted from the royal family made her even more vulnerable to situations like these. It was a situation that didnt have to be, if she remained under royal guard and had a palace driver.

Very true but it was she herself who voluntarily dispensed with her royal protection in 1994 as she felt it was impeding her private life. The London Police chief at the time, Paul Condon, testified at the inquest that he begged her not to get rid of her protection but she ignored him. He agreed with you that if she'd had professionally trained police officers with her in Paris, she'd still be alive today in all likelyhood.

It's amazing to me that a man with 4 times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, would have been able to stand around and visit with the Princess and Dodi for a while before getting in the car. He would have been falling down, stumbling, slurring his words, and totally, visibly drunk. She would not have gotten into a car that he was driving, nor would Trevor Rees-Jones have put her into that position. There are more questions still to be answered.

He was actually twice the British limit and three times the French. At the inquest, medical experts said that as he had a long standing drink problem, he would have built up a tolerance to alcohol so his his behaviour wouldn't have been as noticable as someone not used to alcohol. I read the inquest transcipts on its website and I'd say all pertinent questions were address. You might be interested in the "Diana-The Final Word?" documentary I uploaded a few weeks ago. It was an accident. Undoubtedly so and confirmed by a jury at the inquest. Drunk driver + speeding papparazzi = dead princess.
