  • For anyone who dosn't have a passing interest in the inside of a PC, it helps to do at least some research before going to PC world.

When they tell you it's an Intel Celeron M processor then you chould at least be able to make a rough guess at how good that is for your needs, this kind of laptop isn't anything special and it isn't a good idea to go for the lowest spec computer, not at the rate technology evolves.

  • COMPAQ

    Computers

    Often

    Make

    People

    Quite

    Angry

  • My first computer build was an Intel Celeron. Every build after that, I never used a low or mid spec CPU AGAIN.

For those looking at new laptops, take some advice from Apple. When they switched to Intel they stuck with the Core 2 platform for good reason.

  • £349 for a Celeron M and 1GB RAM, what a bloody rip-off

  • that never happens, she would go, ill take it he will go lemme go get radjib out the back to got u one 3 hours later they tell you they ran out

  • £30 to transfer stuff?

    It's free in some places.

  • Ment compaq ffs

  • Campaq. There a disgrace

  • who would buy that

  • someone who dosnt no what a good laptop is.

Also £30 to transfer stuff? Heard of Ethernet lol, PC worl reall are ripping ppl off really badly.

  • i agree I myself have an Apple Macbook its like a Ferrari in quality and in performance compared to that pile of Junk. On a mac to transfer files I use firewire its much quicker.

  • Werid how my newer motherboard dosnt have firwire, yet is hella better then my old. Never owned a MAC but i herd there good suff.

  • you can get firewire PCI cards for PC's, I have to have firewire i edit film and you need firewire in order to transfer the film from the camera to the computer and then i can edit it in final cut studio

  • How fast do they transfer. Also you could transfer film though USB

  • Firewire is needed because its the most convenient way. firewire is 800mb/s. or firewire 400 is 400mb/s. you can't properly transfer film through usb. if you connect the camera via usb it comes up as an external hard drive. what can be a good thing.

  • but all the pro's use firewire for fast transfer. I prefer it over usb don't really no why it didn't become the industry standard. its faster and better.

  • Firewire has a slower transfer speed than USB 2.0

  • thats where your wrong firewire is 800mb/s & 400mb/s USB is about 450mb/s. So firewire is better

  • Me. Hangs head in shame.

Have got rid now and upgraded, actually anything is an upgrade compared to this, it just used to cause me stress constantly, I swear it used to piss me off on purpose and laugh at me but that might be a seperate case, actually no buying this was part of my insanity as well, I've passed it onto my parents (cruel I know) now so it will most probably haunt me forever more, there bound to need my help on a regular basis with this machine. :D

  • you should buy a mac, they have the best best consumer satisfaction out of all other computer makes. dell is at the bottom
