  • I like this tutorial, thank you very much! I would have put a bit more purple instead of the green, but either way it looks very good!

  • Looks great!!!

  • This is an excellent tutorial and black eye.I particularly like that you explain WHY the color is where it is.I do that whe I teach master classes. I might suggest mixing the yellow on the puffy part with a dab of hilite to brigthen it.Remember people theatre makeup is exxagerated to compensate for bright lights which bleach pigment as well as distance.

  • I actually have a black eye ATM and at around one minute into the vid it was spot on. I love the thought process behind the technique :)

  • that's one color full eye?!?

  • This is great! In the show I'm in, we have a black eye in Act 1 and Act 2 and I'm in charge of makeup. This is really helpful! Thanks a ton!

  • how did you get that mark on your lip?? it looks really cool.

  • ...then a nice, unhealthy green... LMAO!!!

thx for teaching me how to freak the hell out of pple :)))

  • haha it looks nothin like my black but i guess i will see if it works good trying 2 skip school

  • this was really good. the videos are really informative! thanks

  • this is so kewl if i were 2 do this which i want to my friends would freak out!

  • wow big enough fist

  • my drama teacher gave me a fake broken nose n black eye n lol lets just say people freaked out

  • My drama teacher did the black eye and hickey makeup thing on me aand the story I told was I was behind the school kissing this girl and she gave me the hickey when her boyfriend walked up and and we fought and thats how I got the black eye and it worked.

  • in a bruise the colors blend together the yellow sorta comes to an abrupt stop but i like that you have reasons for why a color is going where it is

  • nice!

  • Doesnt Look ,, Well,,, Real Enough..

  • Please remember this is Theatrical Makeup. It is meant to be viewed from 20'+ away.

If one was doing the makeup for film/video; then it would need to be less exaggerated.

  • sweet helped me with alot of pranks ty

  • shes good

  • i needed this 4 oliver twist nd wen i did it the drama teacher sed it wuz the best blak eye she'd ever seen .....thanx a million !!!

  • What would you use for removal of these techniques? Would you just use baby oil like you would on regular stage makeups?

  • This is regular stage makeup.

Cold Cream works well, including those pre-moistened wipes.

  • It looks realistic from a distance but not so much up close... But this helps with Halloween

  • Note that these are "Theatrical Makeup" techniques; designed to be seen from 20' away.

  • could you use black eye shaddow ?

  • You wouldn't get the same results as using true theatrical makeup, but use what you can!

  • Thanks you very much for all those videos.

These videos helped me to teach a bunch of students about the basics of Stage Makeup.

Keep up the great work :)

  • lol "a nice unhealthy green" =)

  • Looks as though its been made to be seen from a distance..the close up wasnt too realistic.

  • Correct. This is Theatrical makeup...to be viewed from the audience / stage. For film, you would need to be more subtle.

  • i want this to be my halloween costume

but im scared ill put the makeup to close to my eye and accidently touch my eye

  • "a nice unhealthy green" cracks me up

  • Theatrical makeup is thicker than normal makeup. Some types are even referred to as "grease paint"!

  • Wacked

  • this woman is boring, but this is what i want to do when i grow up so its very cool to watch.

  • u wna do that wen u grow up??? on ur profile it says ur 22 m8 how much more do u wna grow up????
