Seriously, nobody else should be allowed to sing some of Julie's repertoire unless they do at least as good a job as her... this is the sort of tune that other singers reveal as the silly piece of worthlessness it actually is, but that in the throat of Julie Andrews becomes real MUSIC.

@haranoe look at the song in question, and its origins. It's a children's song, used to create a puppet show in the film "Sound of Music". The parts of this song not sung by Julie Andrews in this clip were also not sung by her in the original.

It may be nonsense, but most children's songs have some element of nonsense in them. For me, add a Muppet to any song and you increase its value tenfold.

I've always have been and always be a fan of Julie Andrews and the (original) Muppet Show. Too bad they screwed up the attempted reintroduction with the debacle that was: "Muppets Tonight" by trying to make it more "hip and urban" by adding characters that only appeal to specific demographic groups.

You can never replace the classics and they should have held to the original format and characters.

Because she sang so much in her lifetime career, her vocal chords had a growth that prevented her from singing. She had an operation and unfortunately she lost the higher scales in her singing voice. Julie explained this on a recent Oprah Winfrey show when Oprah had the "Sound of Music" cast reunion.
