it's just a thought but I noticed you throwing the key into the pipe quite a bit maybe you have to throw the key through the 2 blocks under the keyhole...I don't think Mario "has to" be holding the key to win

I don't wanna be cheap, but I never saw you trying the OTHER SIDE of the pipe. If you climb on the key and take THAT pipe, wouldn't you climb?

I've made it several times since making this let's play from the side that I'm trying in the video. It is however possible to make it from both sides.
