hey ray do you make more videos and is their a quick way to tomato plants cause my two month old tomato plants is only 3 in and has alot of light so what should i do cause i was hoping planting tomato plants in the house would work cause i love tomatoes
Hey Ray, love your videos, how did this plant turn out for you, I know you moved but I am hoping you could tell us the outcome. Did you get 4 plants worth of tomatoes from it, did it sprawl on the ground eventually or did you have to support it. I definitely want to try this next year.
@the1969info It grow a huge amount of tomatoes. The spread is insane. I didn't get 4 plants worth of tomatoes thought. I did get far more than a regular plant. The fence slowed it down a bit. Next time I'll give it more room.
@carlos21845 I have some from a viewer and also a couple I ordered online. I planted them last night as a matter of fact. I have a long long wait (4 weeks) until the sprout. It should be fun to see it grow.
soak the tomato plant in a 2.5 gallons water and it will fall out 15 seconds. if you have the six pack of plants or whatever they sell for the ones who do not wish start from their own seeds. if one soaked in tea..... it may be better. stay safe yallllllll.
i wanting to ask u something but watching this video again so me so intrigued.. i forgot my question. but i got so overwhelmed with this this pre-season i didn't get anything planting. But i just got a few seeds in pots and hopefully i compensate for the lost time by extending the time outside in the garden until October... my zone allows that.
I see you don't stake your tomatoes. Interesting. I do learn alot from your videos, but I was wondering what do you do about hornworms or any other insects in the garden. Here in Orlando, I am always picking them off my tomatoes along with stinkbugs, etc. Thank you for any advice.
@TheOrganiclady I don't have hornworms in my area. I have no idea why not. I've had them in other states and just picked them off and squished them........poor worms. :(
As far as insect pests, the plants grow extremely strong and can withstand attacks from many insects. With multiple stems, the plant has redundancies built in if one stem is under attack. Stinkbugs attack tomatoes?? I've only seen them attack corn and me. They REEK!!!
That's an impressive tomato plant. You've given it a great home and it should reward you with a bumper crop. Will you still be living there to enjoy the harvest?
Hello There! I was wondering, if you get any soil born deceases from letting your plants crawl on the ground. When i grow tomatoes, i try to avoid the leaves touching the ground or remove them. I do understand the concept behind your way of planting, shorter plants equal distribution of energy to the fruit. Smart! Keep the Videos coming!
@sumilea I've never had a problem with my plants becoming diseased. I did have whiteflies once, but the plants grew through it and produced fine. That's literally the only problem I've had in over 14 years.

Was that just one tomato plant with one stem originally, or did you plant more than one tomato plant in that container? I'm confused because of all the stems?
@Iloveinsegnamento Yep just one plant. I pinched it back to force the lower suckers to take over and this is what resulted. I did the exact opposite of what every other tomato grower tells us to do. Most people pinch off the suckers. :)
Here in JAX, FL I got the first blush on my Juliet's and Sweet 100's. Yay! Very few pests so far. I'm keen to try my Carmello's. Next year I'm getting those Linguisa's, they look so funny. I'm in a similar situation though. House on the market. Garden's are kinda tricky to box. Unlike a chicken. I'm with the other's...I tune in to check out the 11 foot po*** (comment deleted by gubmint censors)
I'm gonna invent some tomato plant air-freshener 4folks like u who don't grow them, but love the aroma, lol. Hopefully, I'll eventually have the chance 2c what all the hooplah is over the smell of tomato plants soon (crossing fingers 4the development of my own new plants--that I've had 2start over 2WICE, btw :-/)
I watch your video's because I think of you as a friend. I love watching all your video's the fact that you share the same hobbie I love is a bonus for me.
Add some rocks to that soil and you have what I have ;) Man that's a big tomato plant!!! The way you planted it you should get massive amount of produce!!!!
Well looks like my internet won't let me watch this till after work. Tomato looks great. I went overboard this year starting tomatoes. I think I'll try get rid of them at my brothers grad. open house.
If I'm growing a tomato in a big tree pot thats almost twice as deep as your ceramic one there and it grew from the bottom just like yours should it still be self supporting? Its a determinate and the stem is like 3/4 in. thick.
@SiriusLupis I think I'm gonna make tomato jam with some of my overflow of tomatoes. It tastes better than it sounds. To answer your question, your plant should support itself if planted and grown the way you mentioned. If it gets too topheavy, you can clip some of the topmost leaves and growing tips.
Great plant, that gives you a kicken advantage on the season.
Sure, not as many are interested in the house hunting thing as the gardening thing, but some are, like me. That's just the way the bowling ball leaves a big dent in the basketball court man (as opposed to how the ball bounces, I hate pat cliches so I make my own variant with some kind of meaning)
Do you eat your friend birds? I would, but I'm forever having to force myself to fulfill my part in the circle of life, lifes hard s.times
@omegahpla I used to kill and eat (as opposed to eating them while they're alive) my chickens, but I got tired of it, didn't like the taste and they really didn't like me doing that. Now I just use them for bug control and eggs. I'm a huge fan of eggs.
@Praxxus55712 I know how you feel (I also know the recipe for cocovan so old chicken works lol). Killing game animals leaves me feeling a loss, their loss I guess, maybe the connection that makes me so good at stalking & understanding ending life efficiently
I used to raise lambs & cows from a bottle & I tend to really connect deeply with animals. Killing them left a hole, they trusted me. I'm not made to betray anything or anyone
I saw you with your birds & wondered about your situation
awesome as always, I did that method with two of my cherry tomato plants and two of my super boy plants and they look pretty cool with all the lower branches coming out them, kinda like having four plants for the price of one... keep up the good work
@Nubster12 The journey's not over yet. I'm dragging all of you with me to the new house once I find one. Somebody's gotta watch me so I don't fall into a random gopher hole on new property. :)
I love your videos. They are fun to watch. Your quirkiness is also very entertaining! Keep the videos coming!!!!
