  • Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez never lost the belts. Best tag team ever.

  • I think two matches that I wish would've taken place back in the heyday of tag wrestling would've been the Road Warriors vs The British Bulldogs and The Hart Foundation vs Midnight Express classics that we all missed out on but none-the-less we were given countless classic tag matches from the true tag teams of that era!!! Salute to REAL tag team wrestling!!!

  • The tag team scene today is worthless I'll give credit to a few teams that came along in the past ten years but not very many!!! Beer Money Inc, and the Dudley's come to mind and possibly the Hardy's but that's where the buck stops because every other makeshift team they've thrown together would've been jobbers with no ring music back in the glory days!!!

  • 8:05 animal damn near broke his neck!

  • the entrance music were so awesome back then

  • Today's WWE headliner tag teams, such as Cody Rhodes/Debiassi Jr and all the others would be yesterdays NWA one-match-no-name-jobbers of the week, period.

  • @Buckeyecat2002 i disagree about Cody hed be perfect in JCP

  • Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez should be one of the greatest tag teams of all time

  • Is it too much to ask to have this level of wrestling today?

  • @jtdupin Some (young) people still wrestle like this ;-)

  • would i be wrong if i said that the nwa, wccw, awa, ufw, bread some of the greast tag teams ever....no i wouldnt....its true its dam true...lol

  • litterly 2 of the greatest tag teams ever.

  • we use to joke as kids how you would hear the 'iron man" music start and before a minute of the music played the warriors would barrell ass into the ring and beat the crap out of whoever was in the ring....haha. damn...good old days. i miss it

  • Probably the best two examples of entrance music in wrestling.

  • I love watching this stuff even back when they just came out!!!

  • I would have had LOD go over here or in another event before Rude jumped ship for a nice long reign with the belts as faces. I didn't like the fact that they won the belts as heels a year and a half after this, especially after getting screwed at Starrcade 87 in their own hometown.

  • Jesus Christ, I don't remember Hawk ever bringing a mace to the ring. I always liked Rude and Fernandez as a team. It added an extra dimension to the heel side of the NWA so that it wasn't always the Horsemen or the Midnight Express at the top of the card.

  • How can anyone compare today's shit to this? NWA was the best.

  • When Animal jumps up for the shoulder block, it almost looks like he is stuck in mid-air. Quite a good looking move that was.

  • Notice it didn't take 5 mins. for each tag team to get to the ring,Also they didn't need to take the mic and talk for another 10 mins. before they started wrestling.Man I really do miss those daysThanks for posting.

  • I hated how vince mcmahon buried the Warriors in the WWF. He did the same thing with Big Van Vader

Wrestling is dead thanks to vince mcmahon

  • @pdynamics1 McMahon sucks.

  • @pdynamics1 the road warriors held the tag team title in the WWF. I think Hawk's substance abuse had more to do with inconsistent tenure in the WWF then Vince burying them.

  • @jpkayfabe83 - Do you remember Rocko (I think that is how u spelled his name) where Paul E. had to carry that stupid puppet? Even Hawk hated the idea when I saw him in an interview and felt it defiled the stigma of the R. Warriors...

  • lol @ 3:28.

"Rick Rude taking the time to pose."

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting this match ecuacuban!!

  • so ill. How over were the warriors? They come out second against the champs. As far as booking...it's hard to front on either of these teams. I know dusty was super jealous of the warrior which is probably why he tried to turn them heel.

  • @t3rr3nc388- Dusty wasn't jealous of the Warriors. He was the booker. He was just out of ideas and practically turned the entire roster in 1988.

  • @TBirdSCIL it's nice that you think but there was so much talk of this in the industry at the time that I beleive he was jealous of younger hipper stars like the warriors and sting.

  • i love the silver anniversary belts.

  • You just knew that The Warriors were so damn tough even when their music came on. I mean, that was such awesome music. I have NO clue why Dusty wouldn't book them as the champion when they were so over. He had to turn them heel to win the belts. It took away from everything they were as great tweeners

  • the road warriors are an eva will be the benchmark that the little girls of tna an wwe have to aspire too, long live the animal an give them hell in hades hawk.....

  • If my memory serves me, Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez held the NWA tag titles for 6 mos and never actually lost the belts. Rude was leaving due to a contract dispute and they had a non televised title switch with the Rock and Roll Express claiming Rude was "injured". My favorite tag tem ever.

  • I would've never known about the Iron Man song if it wasn't for the Road Warriors! The music made the characters so much bigger to me! I don't even want to talk about the wrestling of today, just garbage. And like ucladodgerdog said, real music!

  • @azeron112 i mean im sure we would have heard it eventually, but def. the first time i heard it was for the l.o.d.

  • Real music during intros FTW

  • wwe ppv are not as good as what was on regular tv back then

  • Great point.

  • To me Bull and Rude were the best tag team of all time. They worked so well with ea other and style fits any team they worked. Both guys are in my top 5 workers of all time.

  • True story originally Rick Rude was going to team with Animal instead of Hawk Ole Anderson called Ed Sharkey and asked him to send him a wrestler to team with Animal so Rude went but Anderson didn't like how they looked together so he sent Hawk

  • Can you even start to compare the tag teams in this era with todays tag teams?

It's hard to do without shaking your head and laughing. WWE is pathetic.

  • You are so right.

  • Hawk and his mace, funny.

  • I am 14 and I still want to be like Ultimate Warrior!!!

  • RICK RUDE ROCKS THE LADIES

  • Look at the HOF'ers in this match! Rick Rude, one of the 10 best of all time, in my opinion. If you remember his time in the WWF, no one, at all, drew as much heat as Rude. Watch, wrestlers of today, this is how you take a bump. Most people just remember the WWF Legion of Doom, but this is the best tag team ever in their prime. Raging Bull could do it all also-face, heel, bumping machine. Great stuff

  • As far as drawing heat, Rude doesn't compare to Hayes, Piper and Sawyer.

  • Tough to argue with you on Hayes and Piper, but Sawyer? If you mean Buzz, I'm not too sure about that...

  • I like how Rude gets in Hawk's face at the beginning. He had balls! Great match, thanks for posting!

  • @Wampaa yeah but they probably said somethin like...hey man...remember back in Minnesota when we got really fucked up then went 2 Ed's so he could teach us wrestling...half is camp is in the ring...(Sharkey that is)...

  • Dont forget the Steiner brothers, they were beast

  • or the von erics

  • This was the best era for tag team entrance music(until the original ECW)

  • Thanks for this video....I grew up being a die hard Road Warriors fan but I always loved Rude as a heel and Mannt Fernandez was always one of the best in the biz (the flying burrito!!)....awesome videos...this stuff takes me back to good old days growing up. Hell I wanted to BE Arn Anderson til I was probably 12-13..lol.

  • they were the best tag team i think pound for pound

  • Nothin like em before

    nothin like em since

The Road Warriors = Best EVER

  • look at ellering at the end, his punches were not even hitting paul jones lol

  • Damn, Oliver Humperdink was pretty good as an announcer, good voice, good knowledge.

  • R&R was the most unlikely team ever to get over with me, managed by the lame(in my opinion) Paul Jones, Rude and Fernandez even made HIM look cool. Rude was the smooth operator, and Manny was the enforcer...

  • How about the Road Warriors vs. Goldberg and Brock Lesner? That would have been awesome too.

  • The ultimate match would be the Road Warriors vs the Outsiders (Hall & Nash). I'm not sure who would win though...

  • Man, every time I see LOD in the ring,

it's pretty apparent that any if of their matches more than just "entertainment",

the Road Warriors would've simply just mopped the ring with their opponents.

R&R, Midnight Express, even all of the Four Horsemen,

none of 'em in reality would've stood 2 minutes with these guys.

And that's the bottom line, brother.

  • They would have had a time with Manny and Rude. Rude is often cited as one of the toughest and strongest wrestlers of his era. I think even the Road Warriors have named him as such. they all used to work together as bouncers in Minneapolis (Barry Darsow and Nikita Kollof and one or two others also), and they all say Rude was the toughest guy on the scene. Manny has quite a rep as well.

  • Damn no one here mentions who' s doing play by play ? The one and only Big Daddy Dink!! OLIVER HUMPERDINK! Manger of Scott Bam Bam Bigelow Mr Wonderful etc....

  • @scotthallseviltwin RIP Humperdink

  • Good stuff. Do you have the Flair Dusty match, that was coming up next.

  • no unfortunately i dont

  • Damm ok thanks.

  • There was something about R&R entering to We Will Rock You, through the crowds, that just stuck with me ever since the 80's. It was bad ass, but smooth and tough. Or as Manny would say, totally AWESOME.....

  • only thing i can say "AWESOME"

  • Awesome match from the best tag team ever, thanks! Never get enough of the LOD!!!

  • i was two years old wen this match took place but dam from the time i remeber around(89) to now 2008 wrestling has changed big time u dont have tuff guys like these 4 anymore this geneartion of stars r a bunch a little bitches john cena batista are gurls compare to these 4 they would of got laughped at in the 80s wen wrestling u needed to b tuff

  • This match shows 4 men that I knew in my teens. Two are gone, one is really sick. Manny YOU THE MAN BABY! This WAS the ERA for wrestling....it's gone now, all it is now is a T & A show for kids..,makes me ill to watch it now. Miss these guys RIP MIKE AND RICK! carla from wv

  • yeah, i'm with you on that point..Rude, the Warriors, Manny was a beast in those days..the four guys in this clip are arguably legit tougher than the whole current wwe roster combined..

  • where did this kind of wrestling go?? I feel sorry for the kids that have to watch the sports entertainment these days..those of us who watched the mid 70's thru the late 80's, man, great stuff..

  • This was about the time I actually started watching wrestling. Rude doesn't get enough credit as a legend. The Road Warrior gimmick is up there with Hulkamania and Taker as some of the all-time best.

  • Those were the days when they used real classic rock songs for their themes.

  • you must be a real wrestling FAN

  • the entrances, the match. these competetors display an elite look at championship professional wrestling. check our playlists!

  • HAH!! Look at Paul Ellering beat down Paul Jones. :) All 3 of the LOD were bad ass. Rude, Fernandez, and Jones never stood a chance.

  • I loved Manny and Rick as tag team champs. I still think they're one of the most underrated tag champs of all time.

  • I remember Ravishing Rick Rude in the WWF he had the best body that was muscular and lean at the same time very rare Rude was a one of a kind wrestler he had the complete package a wrestling body with good wrestling skills and a great heel persona and amazing mic. skills R.I.P. Rick Rude you were the man.

  • I remember a scaffold match involving these guys in NWA/WCW. Any one know of where I can find that fotage?

  • Yeah it was agianst jim cornette and the midnight express and its on youtube, you just have to look for it.

  • Just look up Road Warriors vs Midnight Express and the Road Warriors interview for the match is on here too

  • I am aware of the Midnight Express match. I'm talking about Road Warriors versus Rude and Raging Bull in a scaffold match.

  • I loved Paul Jones Army. Be it Russians, Rude & Manny. Paul seemed to have the most success at getting fan favorites to jump the fence. mmmm Who am I leaving out, oh yeah. Da Baron. If this is the Eddie Graham Memorial Show, the announcers are not acting like it. All they do is mention Southern Pro Wrestling, as if this is just the weekly show.

  • The NWA World Tag Team Champions (Rude and Fernandez) against the All-Japan International Tag Team Champions (The Road Warriors).

Sad that Hawk, Rick Rude, and referee Randy "Pee-Wee" Anderson all died too young. RIP.

  • when did pee wee anderson die. i did not know he was gone too

  • He died on May 5, 2002 after a battle with cancer. He was only 42 years old.

  • Not too many could intimidate one of my favs, The Ravishing One into keeping his robe on for any length of time. The Road Warriors could, they did and they ruled tag team wrestling! RIP Ric and Hawk ...

  • yo! thanx WHOEVER put this on youtube! NWA had the best entrances EVER! hawk wit tha ball n chain is sick!!! RIP hawk n rude.

  • could any guy off the street have been better ring announcer?

Does anyone know where footage of Ragin Bull suplexing Abdulah the Butcher is?

  • Wow!!! I made this tape this back in 1987. I uploaded it into Imesh and Bearshare. I can't believe it made it all the way to youtube a few years later!! I'm so glad that so many are enjoying it!! UNBELIEVABLE!! RIP Hawk & Rude.

  • Rude and Manny didn't have a singles push at JCP. Manny briefly with Wahoo in their blood feud. What a shame. Good workers.

  • Whatever happened to Paul Jones does anyone know

  • I heard he owns a body shop in NC.

  • buy the shoot of manny fernandez hell of a wrestler

  • what ever happened to manny

  • THIS is pro wrestling!

  • Manny Fernandez was one of the most underrated wrestlers of all-time. Manny Fernandez WAS and Still is a TEXAS LEGEND..Now I know there is Austin, Undertaker, Booker T, Von Erichs, But Manny Wrestled Everywhere and Anyone before it was popular..He feud with Dusty Rhodes was a classic......

  • Manny was a Flordia Heavyweight champion and beat terry funk for the belt and received an NWA shot at Harley Race. He was a main event wrestler! He should've had more sucess!

  • Damn! Now that is some great stuff. Rude & Fernandez we're my favorite 80s tag-team.

  • i always liked that team also. too bad rick rude left for the wwf soon after this. this team could have had a great run in the nwa. i wish vince would have taken the bull with rude and maybe had heenan manage them. that would have been awesome!! i smell championships!!

  • I know. Makes you wonder if Manny was offered to come by Vince and turned him down. He didn't stay in the the NWA long after rude left. Manny left the NWA when things were really starting to cook.

  • I don't think Manny got along with some of the "bosses" (promoters) in many organizations. From what I've heard, anyway.

  • naw vince would'nt have took him 'cauze he wuz fat. u know vince iz n 2 that "look" bullshit.

  • he actually jobbed when ted turner took over.

  • RIP rick rude.

  • Dam love the Road Warriors my fav tag team of all time (RIP Hawk) and then Hart Foundation and now the Hary Boyz

  • The Road Warriors and Rick Rude were awesome!

  • Wrestling was the bomb back then. It is boring as hell now

  • Great posting..thanks! At 6:03, I forgot Manny Fernandex frequently did that kung fu stance. When I saw that, I cracked up....

What disappoints me is how Vince McMahon ruined them when they came over to the WWF / WWE

  • that is very so true. I really agree with you 100%. They didnt even have the iron man music. That what a rush music was trash and their spikes were red. They lack the rawness when they came to the wwf/wwe.

  • Hmmm...I actually LIKED their WWF theme music. It became crap when they changed it for LOD2000 (sense a pattern here?). Anyway, can we also have more Rude/Fernandez matches here please? I want more Awesome Twosome!

  • two of the best entrance songs ever that werent made for wrestling

  • Yeah, only giving them the tag titles and rarely seeing them lose on TV is ruining them. (Seriously, I get the point as to how they were watered down characterwise. But it didn't get REALLY bad until the LOD met Russo booking...coughSUICIDALDRUNKHAWKcough)

  • very awesome, great to see matches and relive when wrestling was awesome

  • underrated tag team

  • Now THAT was wrestling. None of this watered down crap that you see today. Real athletes, real emotion and REAL A** WHOOPINS'. GOD I miss those days!

  • Wrestling is, indeed, garbage now! It's all acrobatics & soap opera antics! I can't stand it!!!The Road Warriors, Rick Rude, Manny Fernandez, Ric Flair, Wahoo McDaniel, Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat,Bruiser Brody, the list goes on.. They all represent the Best era of Pro-Wrestling!!!

  • That entrance music suited them to a tee

  • this is awsome..i never thought i'd see matches such as this ever again...i love both these teams...god bless you tube

  • wrestling is fucking garbage now

  • God I love those days. They built it up perfectly, new unbeatible heels against the unstoppable faces. that is what good wrestling writing used to be

  • Manny Fernandez was exciting to watch. he left the NWA around the time Rick Rude did. Paul Jones had a stable of wrestlers.

  • Awesome. Do you have more matches with Fernandez and Rude? One of the best entrances ever.

  • unfortunately i don't...im waiting for some of these other guys to post.

  • There's Manny from Fernandez.

  • Fernandez, Texas??? lol
