@helenarose27 GCSE's are exams you take at the end of year 11 when your 16 when you get graded and they help you get jobs ect and they go on you CV. They are like SATs u can get different grades but u could also fail but if you wanna know more search on the internet x :)

Im english and yes GCSE's are exams that we all take in year 11. after that you can either leave school and get a job or stay on for another two years to do Alevels. Alevels get you into uni.

GCSE's are tests you normally take when your 15/16 (Year 11).

GCSE stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education. You take a GCSE in each individual subject that you do.

So you can have like an A grade GCSE in English, a B grade GCSE in Spanish, an A* grade GCSE in History e.t.c

They are kind of like OWLs in the Harry Potter books. Thats probably where JK Rowling got the idea from.
