  • The sexual innuendo and double entendres show the repressed 50s at their best--and the woman riding on the huge phallus is, as someone else commented here, "surreal"

  • ive done alot of research on the rocket 88 - GMC was the first to experiment with smaller angle heads. this made for better flow numbers, more combustion efficiently with no recessed dome combustion chamber and it also upped the CR. the blocks were different too - i want to say something with the water jackets? cant remember off the top of my head. great car - way before its time. now small degree heads are all over the place for aftermarket drag racing and performance.

  • The spokesman/ car voice was Harlow Wilcox. Pitchman on "Fibber McGee Molly" for 18 years.

  • This is in the era of "My Mother The Car". "Talking" things were a novelty in the 1950's...cars, horses...etc!

  • This is also a 1950 ad, like the one with Mel Torme.

  • Thanks for posting -

Who says that there wasn't heavy drug use by advertising agency execs in 1958? -

    Surreal

Always good to see Diana Lynn, though.
