I am 6'3" and 150 lbs, ( I am most likely going to gain weight) was a flexible ski/ what length should I get? I am also looking for something that is light for easier switch ups and spins.
Im 12, from PA started skiing a few years ago and im okay, i can do parallel but not with great technique. when i stop growing, my parents said i could buy a pair (i usually rent for the season from a local ski shop) when i stop growing.I wanted to start learning how to do tricks and rails, but i still love those diamonds. Any skis recommended?
I was looking at the K2 Revival ski and being a big heavy skier 275 lbs and 6'3" looking to do some park and groomed skiing so i was wondering what your thoughts about this ski or these kind of skis
@qwopforlife The Revival would be a good ski for this. With the jib rocker shape it is more of a "freestyle" ski but the sidecut profile makes it a solid carver as well. At your size make sure you size up especially with twin tips, 180cm+ on any twin tip.
hey I was wondering what ski size am I. I'm 5'8 and 130LBS and I'm 15 years old male. I am a intermediate/advanced skiier. I bought twin tip skis (Saloman Knight 2011). I was wondering what size should I get either 161 or 171?
I'm looking to get some twip tips and ideally I want to be able to ride park and some rails I won't be pipe like at all, but I do go ski pow some days kind of looking for an all rounder I suppose, but don't want to be spending ridiculous amounts. Any advice/ski's you would recommend?? would be very grateful :)
I'm an intermediate skiier, I want an overall ski that I can do a lot with, maybe go to the terrain park, or whatever. I don't ski on powder at all, is there any specific skiis that I should be looking for?
@1994dude4444 You have a whole lot of options that fit into that category. What you are going to want is something that will be directional and mid wide (85-90mm or so underfoot). The Armada El Rey, Atomic Panic, and Line Prophet Flite would all be really good choice here. The Panic and Flite are more true all mountain skis that are twin tips where the El Rey is more of a freestyle/park twin that skis very well all mountain.
How good are Salomon Suspects on Park and Pipe? Thats what im buying for this season. Also if they are a 86 waist, and I get wide brake bindings that are 90mm is that the right size?
@Whydyoudoit567 The Panic is an all mountain twin and offers great control for various conditions. The adaptive rocker in the panic offers a slight amount of rocker in the tips of the skis; this will allow for forgiving turn initiation and a ski that will not catch. It's not the stiffest twin so if you're a heavier guy or teetering on the level of expert you may want to find a stiffer model.
@iridetigers The all mountain ski was the '09 volkl bridge. The 2011 bridge has a rocker design to give more float in the powder, but the 09/10 bridge have a more traditional camber. I'm not sure how they would compare on hard pack
i need help ppl idk what to get or what size. im 6' 2" im a huge terrain park guy. but i cannot spend alot and need bindings included. pls what ski and size should i get
@ic3man5010327 at 6'2" you should probably get 177, but it matters because 170's could also fit you. It just depends on the length that you like. Maybe try demoing the different sizes?
If anyone has Salomon Lord skiis, can you reply to my comment and lemme know how good they are on and off the park.. I'm a good skiier, been lots of times and just starting off on the park, will these skiis suit me? I guess I'm about 15% off piest, 15% on Park and rest on piest!
@SuperTamauro Since the season is over now, you can get some really good skis for really cheap. If your looking for park, you should check out anything from line. The masterminds are really affordable, but I have the Afterbangs and I LOVE them!
Do you know if the Volkl Gotama Jr. are light, im looking at em and they look sick!!! i just want to know if theyd be light in a 138(so i can finalize my descision) i grind and do tricks and everything, so please (if you know) get back to me:) thanx
Although there are as many girls who do ski, they are a lot less present in the park area. I know this because I ski around 60 times a year, constantly in park.
hey good answer there maybe you can give me one... i weight 210 and im lookin for a ski thatl be strong enough for me to butter nosepress ect.. lookin for a park ski since ive got some old bandit pow skis and a rossi groomer ski
they're probably a touch short, but that wont be a problem unless you go at high speed (they will be a bit unstable) or ski through deep powder (they may sink).
next time you should go for a 164-171, unless you get a lot better by that stage, in which case you will want to go a bit longer.
the legnth wont be a problem unless you take them to the limit. last season i was on a pair of 146s and I'm 168 cm tall. they were fine until i went too fast.
Very well done, i defeintly would get the park twin tips that can also be used in ust skiing downhill, but yes great video defiently packed with good info

my skis are 50% all mountain and 50% groomed but 0% powder? What does that mean? And what would happen if I decide to use those skis on powder

The Rossignol Scratch Brigade is a good park ski.

if im 180 cm high, how long should my ski be?
KVfilms 2 years ago
beginner - 165 to 170
intermediate - 170 to 175
advanced - 175 +
if you are very heavy you may want a slightly longer ski, and if your light you may want to go shorter.

Hey, I see you know what you are talking about.
If I'm 178 tall, and pretty skinny ( = 64kg~ 142 punds), and medium skiing skill, do you think the 158 long twin tips i just bought are too short?
They reach up to about 1cm above my chin.
petisnnake 2 years ago
they're probably a touch short, but that wont be a problem unless you go at high speed (they will be a bit unstable) or ski through deep powder (they may sink).
