It's amazing now in 2012 to think in 1979, a live action movie can be marketed as being rated G for all ages. Nowadays, G and even PG have the stigma of being dumb kiddie-fare. Really sad.

TOS was produced from 1966-1969, TMP was released in 1979. 10 years after the third and last season of TOS.
