Doing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious at school for my Musical Theater Ensemble class. I've known the dance for several years now do the entire process is a breeze. Absolutely loving it.
@MusicalMaddy45 Here are some tips: Before auditioning, attend private singing, dancing, and acting classes for about 1 year. You should always continue to take these lessons. Go on youtube and look up videos about headshots and resumes, and how to act in an audition situation. Read Nancy Carson's book "Raising a Star". It's very helpful!
@MusicalMaddy45 You would have to find out about local community theater productions of shows (not mary poppins) and audition. Once you are in several and have built yourself a resume, you can contact a NYC agent and send them your headshot (picture of yourself) and resume (list of things you've been in. Only put lead roles though). If they call you in for an appointment, fly to NYC and meet them. If they sign you, they will send you on auditions and one may be Mary Poppins.
@MusicalMaddy45 There is a maximum height which can hold you back. Which why I can't do it. If you're over 58 inches, well you know.
It's all I wanted my 12th birthday, but instead I got and inch and a half too tall. There always is the hope that they raise the height standard or that the height is up to my forehead, because then I'm a half inch under, but I'm not that foolish.
Good luck to all the luck, talented kids in Mary Poppins!
How does the ginger play Jane?
