While I agree that Idina Menzel has more powerful vocals, I like Eden Espinsoa's emotion better. I don't see Eden performing but Maureen's frustration with Joanne.

@TxAgDragongirl61190 as much as I've listened to the OBC before I saw the show, it was a great CD but then I saw a few different casts and then realized how much better some of those other casts were. I saw the orginal back in 98 or 99 at the Nederlander with most of the orginal cast and I have to tell ya is some of the on road casts were SO much better than the orginal. I have to give it up for the OBC for they are the ones that set the trend for the charactors but I've heard better thanOBC

OMG!!! Tracy and Eden are so sexy and wild, and they deliver an amazingly brilliant Take me or Leave Me....Their voices are so stunning, seriously, and seeing all that physical contact and shouting makes you imagine how do Maureen and Joanne are in more "private" situations hehehe :-)

Wow! I didn't even know it, but Renee Elise Goldsberry(Mimi) is said to bee expecting a baby boy in spring of '09. So she was pregnant while performing in rent! That's amazing!

I actually saw Eden in Wicked around 2 years ago in LA. She sounds similar to Idina live, more than on this recording. Both are awesome with their own defining moments though, I can't really compare. :)

surprisingly this Maureen looks and sounds very similar to Idina Menzel's Maureen! At first sight I hadto double check to see if that wasn't her!!!! I love the fact that somebody finally posted an updated version of Rent so I could see what I missed last year!
