Not quite- I just finished playing SM3 on an actual NES and it's bang-on. As for the sound made while flying, we all know that the same sound is made when the P-Gauge is full- tail, fireflower or small.

err... ya miss one valued thing here... you cant warp from the strarting point of the 2,3,4 zones to 8. You clearly have to have all three whistles. ( with the exceptions of having to PLAY throu the levels )
1 - warp to four, unless you play to four, 2 - to warp to seven, unless you play to seven, 3rd - to warp to eight. Last, but not least, to get by all three of the five zones on eight-where the hand can pull you down into the level,(the one before the last speed boat) you have to play the whole entire game, level by level to get past without being pulled down in to at least one of said levels. Its one of the "perks" if you can call it that. Did that make sense?
I wondered about this too but still think it’s good. There are only small things like what you mentioned that would give away a hack. Not something like walking right though an enemy. All in all I would say hack but leave open the possibility that it’s genuine. Anyone know more about this clip?

It is not a hack but made with an emulator, where you can save and resume everywhere. There's a site where you can find many of similar speed runs.
