what an amazing job on this video! i feel the song goes so well with the clips from the movie! i grew up with little nemo and he always reminded me of my brother- short messy hair, cute, curious, always getting into trouble! thanks so much for posting this. i'm glad i found it. it truly made my night.
BWAHAHA! I was working on my homework just listening to the song, and when I came back the vid was at the part where the nightmare mist was covering everyone at the party.
There was an ad that had popped up, "BP's Work in the Gulf"...
God, the original comic Little Nemo is an INCREDIBLE read if you ever get a chance, though I definately love the movie too. Great video! It's great to see a "kid's movie" taken seriously!
My god this movie has an incredible history behind its production. Can you imagine that first George Lucas (INdiana Jones and Star Wars) turned it down when he was asked to help make it, then chuck jones (Looney Tunes Shorts) turned downt he project then some other guy took up the project and hired Ray bradburry (author of Fahrenheit 451) himself to help with the screenplay. This movie in almost unheard of yet its a legend in hollywood.
I believe Yoshifume Kondo had something to do with this. He was a Ghibli director (tho not at the time) and I know he directed the Nemo short film that was sort of a test sequence based on early drafts of the script. he probably also did the earliest character designs, tho the final film doesn't have much of his style, so I'd guess that someone else actually directed the feature.
Kondo went on to direct "Whispers Of The Heart" for Ghibli, but died before he could see it's success in theaters.
do you have the VHS or DVD? cuz I heard the DVD is the complete uncut version of the movie, so if you have the DVD, we beseech thee, please upload it.
or they could have shown in his nightmare he has at the Begining he runs into the Nightmare king on his flying bed then Nightmare King Grabs him and try to eat him
that Gaint Black Glob should have grab Nemo instead of the King because its more cooler in these movies when kids get Grab by somthing freaky they should have shown in the movie Nemo wakes up fro nthe NightMare he had at the Begining and his stomach growls for some food so he sneaks to the Kitchen and eats some of his mothers cookies then smoke comes in to the Kitchen and forms into a hand grabs Nemo and drifs him out of the Kitchen and down the Hall and out of his house
In the early 1980's, Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata worked on the film, but quit after many arguments. It was finished by another anime company (forgot it's name.) It was released in 1987 in Japan, and was distributed by Hemdale in America in 1992, not Disney as it is commonly confused for.
i don't know. If you mean it would of been better publizied by Disney, you're probaly right. But the movie was fine the way it was. The movie was disturbed by Hemdale pictures, being an American idea, but it was animated by a Toyko company.
As for the movie itself, it flopped when released in theaters, reasons unknown. But the film became a cult classic when released on video, selling over 2 million copies. As for you who keep asking about the song, you could try checking the video description.
I enjoyed this video. For those of you who have comments I have answers. First off, Nemo was not done by Disney but a different company. The blob or red piercing eyes was the Nightmare King. Little Nemo was based off a comic strip done by Winsor McKay back in the 1900's. The movie takes elements and characters from the strip, but some fans have said the movie isn't as artistic as the strip was.
nice work.... :-)

This seems scarily out of the world of Howl's Moving Castle (both book and anime form), but with American animation. Freaky...
Wonderful video.

WHAT MIYAZAKI HAD HIS HANDS IN THIS go figure, disney needs their talent (japan, buena vista, and others...)
Marindo 4 years ago
Well, here's how much I know about this movie.
In the early 1980's, Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata worked on the film, but quit after many arguments. It was finished by another anime company (forgot it's name.) It was released in 1987 in Japan, and was distributed by Hemdale in America in 1992, not Disney as it is commonly confused for.
thetaiphoon 4 years ago
in the american theatrical trailer, it's called "Disney's Little Nemo". It's weird
bananamansam 4 years ago
This looks like something Miyazaki would make! But this movie takes me back... I lost it somewhere
Kinosanga 4 years ago
Miyazaki actually did work on this a little bit. I've never seen it but it looks great. And that scene in the foggy sea looks beautiful.
thetaiphoon 4 years ago
im not sure. do what u want.

bananamansam,
got an idea. use Little Nemo footage with the song "the fanasty" by 30 seconds to mars. heard it and thought it go well with Nemo's story.
paulpanhook 4 years ago
Hmm. Yeah it could work. I'll see what i can do. I'll dedicate it to you if you want. Should i put Paulpanhook or your real name?

paulpanhook 4 years ago
i don't know. If you mean it would of been better publizied by Disney, you're probaly right. But the movie was fine the way it was. The movie was disturbed by Hemdale pictures, being an American idea, but it was animated by a Toyko company.
paulpanhook 4 years ago
do you mean 'distributed' because 'disturbed' is a funny typo
silverbeth 4 years ago
i mean it would have probley got good review's if Disneyhad done it instead of Hemdale

well it sould have been done by disney because it probley would do more better with the disney Studio then the studio where it really came from
makosharkman 4 years ago
just curious who sing this song anyway
makosharkman 4 years ago
that Gaint black Glob what ever it was should have wrap around and Kidnap Nemo instead of the King
makosharkman 4 years ago
they should have had Little Nemo film at the Walt Disney Studio
makosharkman 4 years ago
they should have had this song with the Soundtrack of Little Nemo
makosharkman 4 years ago
i think they should make a live Movie of Little Nemo its Worth a shot
makosharkman 4 years ago
i herd Little Nemo is base on a comic book written by Winsor Mcay back in 1920
makosharkman 4 years ago
Indeed it was.
bananamansam 4 years ago
does the movie go the same way as the Comicbook does or is the the move differnt then the comicbook
makosharkman 4 years ago
It was a long running series. they touched bases with the main characters and a few storylines. But in no way covered it all
bananamansam 4 years ago
i wonder why they didn't make a Sequel Where Nemo Returns to Slumberland it ended like there was going to be Sequel so why didn't they make one
makosharkman 4 years ago
I suppose it didn't do too well in the box office
bananamansam 4 years ago
i wonder why it didn't go so well
makosharkman 4 years ago
Considering it was released in a time where Disney were kings of animation, and the public thought it was too un-Di$ney.
thetaiphoon 4 years ago
if disney had done it then instead of Hemdale it probley would done well in the box office
makosharkman 4 years ago
I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid but the song just rocks!
