Very underrated rapper. I've been listening for years now and I still don't understand why weak rappers such as Drake and Nicki Minaj are out there dominating the scene. Very underrated rapper. I've been listening for years now and I still don't understand why weak rappers such as Drake and Nicki Minaj are out there dominating the scene. This might sound bold, but I think Lupe Fiasco is one of the best rappers we've had... he just needs more commercial success to prove himself on that level.

@abid172 Yeah I get that, but really look at how Pac got down. He made music to gain profits... money = power. When you have enough success on the mainstream you have more opportunoity to get a voice across. But it's hard to go mainstream and keep it real at the same time, especially in this age. But I'm saying there's no doubt that Lupe has the talent to push further... I'd just like to see his messages and skill be broadened so more people can see he's a top rate artist.

@therealist811 I agree. It blows my mind when I'm walking around my school and the people are blasting shit like Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka. It makes me want to smack them. Everytime I listen to his album's, more triple-meanings and wordplay unravels itself to me. The most played songs on my Ipod is the sound track to The Cool, then F&L. Anyway, if you like this guy, check out Sage Francis and Eyedea, they have equally trippy shit, and not a lot of people know them.

Being able to flow without using expletives, not dissing anyone, tell a concise story while delivering a message, cunning use of word play, is on a complete different/ higher level. His music is for people who are constantly conscious and have enlarged attention spans. but i agree with you he is one of the bests.

@87ksan I see what you mean, but I think the messages Lupe brings would be useful in the mainstream. Today's generation are being stupidly guided, and Lupe spits it real so on the mainstream it can have a positive influence. Nobody has been able to tap the mainstream this way since Pac. It's just a shame to see what tops the charts, especially when you have a very talented rapper like Lupe losing out to Nicki Minaj or Rick Ross.
