The shuttle disintegrated because fires from the O ring burnt through the tank, pushing the liquid oxygen up into the liquid hydrogen chamber causing a fiery fusion, and also causing death and destruction.

You can see that it's directly under the where it's jet stream ends. It isn't a UFO; but of course, some people need a conspiracy.
I cant find any footage of the Columbia on it's reentry right before it explodes... all I can find are vids of it already falling to the Earth in pieces...I want to study some of that footage.

The shuttle hit a very strong headwind, as is evident by a commercial jet that hit that same headwind 1/2 hour before launch. This caused a metal additive to the fuel to break loose, allowing the fuel to exit the booster and causing the larger tank connected to the shuttle to explode. There is very clear footage of this, and clearer footage of the parachute

It wouldn't take much effort to read the summary of a 500 million dollar investigation that determined the cold weather affected the o-rings, and combined with the highest wind-shear recorded in flight. It was the SRB booster that failed, not the main thrusters.

Apparently the crosswind that Challenger encountered in the video, just prior to the explosion, was a contributing factor. The O-Ring breach was initially plugged with debris from the solid fuel inside the boosters. The violent crosswind contributed towards jolting the debris loose, just enough for the hot gasses to escape from the malfunctioning O-ring seal. Challenger VERY VERY nearly exploded on the launchpad, but the debris inside the SRB prevented this.
I don't think crosswinds were a factor, and debris plugging the hole is pure speculation. The investigation doesn't mention anything about it. Also, solid rockets burn all up and down the rocket from the inside out. So it makes sense that it would blowout late in launch rather than on the pad.
The rubber that the O-rings were made from under freezing temperatures had no resilience. Once deformed they retained the deformation.
There's some programmes that mention crosswinds as a factor and some that dont. There's a lot of differing speculation on the matter really. It was the O-ring failure that caused the explosion though. THis whole thing could've well been avoided.
Actually you are correct and wrong. The suttle should have blownn up shortl after launch but the hole was plugged by residue from the ammonium placorite burning. The strong cross wind broke that debris free letting hot gases out later in flight.
That is pure speculation unless you can cite references. Besides, there was a thick cloud of gray smoke captured on camera emanating from the booster during launch which would indicate that there was no such plug. Also, at launch, the grain would be at it's thickest and would be more of a barrier than any debris would. When the grain burned down to the casing there would be ample pressures at that time to breach the O-rings. It would have blown, crosswinds or not.
At 01:11 you can see the effect of the violent crosswind that hit the shuttle just before she exploded. The shuttle seems to deviate from her course momentarilly, then correct herself.
The object (ufo) is one of the parachutes from one of the solid rocket boosters. Both SRBs were destroyed by Houston after the intial Challenger explosion. It's a safety issue.

And yes you can definately see where the crosswind sent the shuttle off coarse. I always wondered if it would have made it through to staging had the abnormally strong crosswind brought the failure to a head. I know it was imenant but what if?

Apparently the crosswind that Challenger encountered in the video, just prior to the explosion, was a contributing factor. The O-Ring breach was initially plugged with debris from the solid fuel inside the boosters. The violent crosswind contributed towards jolting the debris loose, just enough for the hot gasses to escape from the malfunctioning O-ring seal. Challenger VERY VERY nearly exploded on the launchpad, but the debris inside the SRB prevented this.

I don't think crosswinds were a factor, and debris plugging the hole is pure speculation. The investigation doesn't mention anything about it. Also, solid rockets burn all up and down the rocket from the inside out. So it makes sense that it would blowout late in launch rather than on the pad.
The rubber that the O-rings were made from under freezing temperatures had no resilience. Once deformed they retained the deformation.

There's some programmes that mention crosswinds as a factor and some that dont. There's a lot of differing speculation on the matter really. It was the O-ring failure that caused the explosion though. THis whole thing could've well been avoided.

Actually you are correct and wrong. The suttle should have blownn up shortl after launch but the hole was plugged by residue from the ammonium placorite burning. The strong cross wind broke that debris free letting hot gases out later in flight.

That is pure speculation unless you can cite references. Besides, there was a thick cloud of gray smoke captured on camera emanating from the booster during launch which would indicate that there was no such plug. Also, at launch, the grain would be at it's thickest and would be more of a barrier than any debris would. When the grain burned down to the casing there would be ample pressures at that time to breach the O-rings. It would have blown, crosswinds or not.

At 01:11 you can see the effect of the violent crosswind that hit the shuttle just before she exploded. The shuttle seems to deviate from her course momentarilly, then correct herself.

The object (ufo) is one of the parachutes from one of the solid rocket boosters. Both SRBs were destroyed by Houston after the intial Challenger explosion. It's a safety issue.

The crew cabin survived the explosion completely intact, as did the solid rocket boosters and many other parts of the shuttle. Each srb is equipt with a parachute in the nose cone which deploys so that they can be recovered in the ocean.

Um, a smaller cloud, next to the main cloud = UFO? It's obviously not moving with respect to the cloud, so it's more of an "unidentified FLOATING object", but given that it looks like a freakin' CLOUD, I would call it neither an "object" nor "unidentified". It's probably just some puff of smoke created by debris that flared up as it fell through that position. Or it could just be a regular cloud. *shrug*
