  • At the same time they do and don't deserve to be turned into donkeys, they should learn to listen to adults and to not ignore them because this is what happens to them when they misbehave.

  • Well, I sure am traumatized now.

  • Even after all these years, I'm still disturbed by the donkey scene!!! O.O

  • @crybabygirl08 same here...

  • @crybabygirl08 Rightfully so. Very disturbing stuff, especially for young impressionable minds.

  • I have to admit, Pinocchio wasn't my favorite Disney movie. It was my least favorite next to Dumbo. Probably because it's dark and this is one of the scenes that I really didn't like as a kid. This and the whale chasing scene. O.O

  • I never understood how they turned into donkeys...HOW THE HELL DID THEY TURN INTO DONKEYS???

  • @yourxinnerxchild Maybe Coachman hired Blue Fairy's evil twin to curse the island?

  • @joshscomputer That's a possibility...hm...

  • @joshscomputer I thought they drank beer....

  • @yourxinnerxchild I always thought it was because of the root beer they drank.

  • @xspeedfreakx100 i always thought it was bc of the beer and cigarettes and food. apparently according to wiki i guess the island is cursed. apparently it doesnt affect the coachman, who btw happens to be one of my fav disney villians alongside shere kahn from the jungle book, mostly bc the coachman is obviously pure evil, where he makes that face in the bar he looks like the devil to me lol

  • i wish the bottom of the ocean was that cute lol

  • the music is 2 loud i cant hear the character speak

  • 2:28 I never noticed this before, but Lampwick goes "call that beetle!" It's as if he just realized it...

  • Serves Lampwick right, this should teach him to listen to adults and authority if he ever regains his true form.

  • This is really messed up when you notice this is the last time the coachmen the boys aref seen i realise this is pinocchios story but do they all just get sent to the salt mine forever seems very sad

  • OMG Alexander you're so cute. It touched my heart.... "Alexander sir and I wanna go home to my mama!!" That is soooo cute

  • I remembered when the boy turned into a donkey when I don't know about the word jackass in my childhood.

  • 7:08 DUDE she's LOOKIN down his PANTS!!! Perv fish...

    . . o

  • There is a sea zebra

  • I'd like to know how they figured out that whale's name... And what it has to do with the story :P

  • i never got the whole turning into Donkey's thing. was that a curse of the island or some black magic or what?

  • @TBOGmorris1113

It could be magic, but most importantly it is a metaphor for what happens to little boys when they misbehave and choose the easy way in life. The become jackasses, no better than a wild, rabid animal.

  • @nerdygrl647 i gathered that was the metaphor part of it since they say Jackass in the movie 3 times, but i would like to know more in depth why this happens. there has to be a hidden reason.

  • @nerdygrl647

Actually the metaphore is based on that the donkey is synonim of ignorant in the European (but I think that it will be the same in all the other countries) culture. And Pinocchios tale is Italian.

  • @TBOGmorris1113

Plus, they probably spiked the beer and ciggies

  • @TBOGmorris1113 I always thought there was something in the cigars or mixed in the beer that turned them into donkeys.

  • @megamike91 interesting assumption. but that's relying on a lot of luck for them to think all those bad kids would do one of them

  • i just realized this must have terrified little boys around the world...

  • Yeah that is one of the most disturbing aspects of this film. The Ferryman never gets his comeuppence. He gets away, and that's eerie, as he is no doubt one of most most evil villans in a Disney flick.

  • LMAO 'What's he think i look like , a jackass?'

    Pinocchio; 'Yoou sure do!'

  • the donkey thing was disturbing

  • they shud really do a story on someone stopping the coachman, he was more brutal in the books

  • @sn54

Really? What'd he do in the books?

  • @R0ckG1r7 he treated the boys turned into donkeys worse biting off their ears making them limp skinning some and whole lot of things

  • @sn54 Wow. That IS worse...It's really sad, too. What about the girls?

  • @R0ckG1r7 they're actually those black monster in the film

  • @sn54

    What black monsters?

  • @R0ckG1r7 in the movie the black scary looking things helping the coachman

  • i never understood why geppeto left his house even now i stii dont understand

  • Am I the only one who thinks the donkey scene is cool and not disturbing/scary? :P

  • @nickjoekevinjonas27 I'm a litt of both, it's the most memerable scene from when I saw this as a kid, but its still a littls dsiturbing/scary anyway. Athough I'm gald I"m a girl because then I wouldn't be tricked into going to that island, not that I would be stupid enough to go, even if I was a boy.

  • @ZeldaWolf2000 XD ya I'm a girl too and I'm one of the good ones ;P

And ya, the most memorable part too is the same for me, it's like, always the first part I think of when I think Pinocchio :C

  • @ZeldaWolf2000 me to. it's the fist thing I could think of when I think of the movie. I geuss its because its pretty distinktive.

  • Jiminy sounds like he says "Sexy life" at the very end after the sea donkey kicks him

  • @manzoo10000 hahahahaha

  • the donkey turning scene is the most frightning movie scene i've ever witnessed in a movie

  • @xMrBossx I know what you mean. When I was little it was this and the whale scene. I'd gladly see the whale scene over this any day! Maybe that's because the whale scene doesn't scare me anymore but this, I'm 22, I forgot all about this and now seeing it again, I really find it disturbing and fighting. I feel so bad for Alexander the most.

  • donkey seahorse!!!!!

  • 3:40-Your concience tells you to commit suicide...

  • I was never scared to watch tht donkey scene as a kid, now tht i know what it means, i almost wet myself and cried!!!

  • Pinocchio:Father!

Jimniy:Father! Huh he aint my father. Er Mr Geppito! LOL

  • Who's his concience anyway?

    Me or that-that hoodlum,Lampwick?

I'm taking the next boat outta here!

    Open this door.

    Open up,I wanna go home!

  • [Muttering]

    Lampwick. Hmmph. Lampwick.

He burns me up after all I do to him!

  • Well this is actaully true. Kids and Teens that do bad things and they know it are Jackasses. They drink, smoke, gamble and made jackasses out of themselves like modern day youth.

  • What a monster, the coachman, stripping boys of their humanity and forcing them into slavery. This is unforgivable.

  • @ilikeamazon It's a movie...

  • @Titanstower it's still disturbing

  • @Haley10016 true

  • This movie taught me a valuable lesson:

Dont drink or smoke or you'll turn into a jack ass

  • DUDE SHE'S LOOKIN DOWN HIS PANTS :O 7:10

    perv "gold"fish

  • I wonder what aliens would think if this was the first movie of ours that they saw...

  • 7:53 "I got somethin u can put ur mouth on" ;)

  • from 9:02 - 9:07 Why is Jiminy fighting to keep his head above the water in the bubble when he was submerged in water earlier..

  • Don't worry about Alexander, he goes on to meet an ogre by the name of Shrek, and the rest is history...

  • @AndyDude312 well played good sir.

  • @AndyDude312 don't forget he had to change his name to Donkey.

  • @AndyDude312 haha I always wondered what tale Donkey is from ;)

  • I hope they make the coachman a boss you can fight in kingdom hearts 3D

  • My Brother his name is Alexander jahajh...!!

  • they said jackass im sueing disney!!!

  • sure wish i could could breath under water!

     :P

  • @Brennamae349 I KNOW RIGHT THAT WOULD BE AWESOME XD

  • @Canderson159 Why not? Do you mean why is there a swear word in a Disney movie? Because back then (and mostly these days) a jack ass (or ass) is another name for a donkey. It's not technically a swear word, but people use it as one these days.

  • why did disney say jack ass in one of his films?

  • @Canderson159 It wasn't thought of a bad word then, they even say it in the New Testament of the Christian Bible a few times.

  • hahahaha, Cricket knocks on the door, " Open up, I wanna go home!"

Then walks straight out under the door! LOOL!

  • This...is the reason why I don't want to smoke or drink when I turn 18. It can do bad things to me.

  • Don't remember being this traumatised by the donkey's when I was little!! Also, how long is Pinocchio supposed to have been gone for? :/

  • in answer to the question how they turned into donkeys... its metaphorical... they made jackasses out of them selves... remember what Jiminy Cricket said "go on make a jackass outta yourself" just a metaphorical irony thing... haha

  • That donkey used to scare the crap out of me...and it still does!

  • hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??????????? i wonder if the man, doing the voice of jimminy is still alive, or gone): he's a grate actor(:

  • nice disney. you say donkey, but right after you fit "jackass" in there.

    hahahah <3

  • how did the boys get turned to donkey's?

  • @TheWeaverofNightmere Well ..... they made jackasses out of them self's so that's why they turned into donkey's, because donkeys are sometime's known as "Asses" lol

  • Why is a piece of wood becoming a donkey? Wouldn't it just transform into a wooden donkey?

  • 1:49 Lm*o Never ever heard the word jack ass in a cartoon before.

I saw this movie a few times how did I not heard? lol

  • If you want to know why Geppehto was even out at sea. While he was looking for Pinocchio, he ran into the fox and the cat who were admiring their new payment of gold that the coachman had given them and saying how easily Pinocchio fell for their trick to go to Pleasure Island. When Geppehto heard that, he got Figero and Cleo and made his way to Pleasure Island to get Pinocchio but on the way, he was swallowed by Monstro.

  • @pytko3 how did u get 2 know about that? Fits da story really well tho ;D

  • @pytko3 Where did you find that information?

  • You know those furry, black, yellow-eyed creatures helping the coachman? Those are what little girls turn into when they're brought to the island. I'm not making a joke. I heard that in one version of the story, that occasionally the coachman gets a few stupid little girls and they transform into those black creatures and become his mindless slaves.

  • @pytko3 do u know how the boys turned into donkeys? if u do than can u plz tell me :)

  • @crystalheart200011 The island actually has some sort of curse/spell on it. The coachman didn't put it on the island, he just knows about it and of courses it as a way to cash in. When the boys misbehave enough it causes them to transform. They say that boys who misbehave all the time, eventually make jackasses out of themselves. On the island it's LITERALLY true.

  • @pytko3 wow O.o...well thx 4 telling me :)

  • damn, when lampwick turns into a donkey, he goes fuckin ape shit.

  • Good thing they can breathe underwater!

  • @ 7:12 - big balls

  • Goddam donkey transformations, scared the hell out of me

  • @ScAdOoShABOIBNMVGBSD especially after Lampwiks hands turned to hooves.

  • Scared me to f'ing crap when I was a kid. I mean, NIGHTMARES. Was the only Disney movie my dad let me see...

  • That fish that follows Jiminy cricket is so cute!!!!

  • OMG HORNY GOLDFISH!!!! WHY WARPED MIND???? WHY??????

  • the part with little Alexander was heartbreaking :(

  • Comment removed

  • @miss09lauren I thought that was funny when I was a kid, lol.

  • @ mrfashiondisigner123

Back then, people didn't have the knolagw we have today about drugs and alcohol. And what it could do to someone (even a preteen)

So thats why it seems so strange to us now:)

    Make sence?

  • "put it on the wrong end" That's what she said AMIRITE

  • how does the cricket breathe under water? lol

  • @Hlvillaire Maybe he's a water cricket

  • @Mousey997 maybe hes a wooden donkey?

  • @animeaddict13

Yes, the good old days. Today there are just pussies

  • Mr.Geppeto was the quote used for Hot shots part deux.

  • am shocked this is a cartoon for kids,i mean smoking, drinking, what were they drinking? o:

  • @MrFashiondesigner123

Well this was made back in 1940, when smoking was considered to be good for you and it was common for pre-teens teens to do it.

  • @MrFashiondesigner123 They were drinking beer or whiskey. It is SO BAD for pre-teens to smoke.

  • This is without debut the darkest Disney movie, how could i watch this so easy as a kid?

  • @MegaGoodoldtimes

My thoughts exactly! I'm 21 and was spooked watching Lampwick's transformation into a donkey and yet watched this with ease as a 5/6 year old

  • Pleasure Island... The Place Where Old Men Take Little Boys And Make Them Asses Suffer!

  • I love this scene it's very creative

  • Who knew that Disney could do a better job creating a scary scene than all horror movies combined? I'm serious.

  • @classicsguy626 use to scare me so much when I was little. even now I'm a little spooked.

  • @classicsguy626 actually disney didn't create Pinocchio, Carlo Coldi did, the actual original story of Pinocchio is way more dark and twisted than the disney version. The only reason I know this is because we just the last 2 weeks discussing Pinocchio in my italian class lol

  • At 4:52 Pinocchio sounds South African

  • Gipetto should have came to pleasure island with a shot gun and killed the man and lampwick.and jiminey has a predator missile

  • it doesn't have to be jack ass for a donkey. it can be also queen or king ass, depending on which card you've got

  • WHY oh WHY would they go as far as to say jackASS in a kid movie? I know that's just another name for a donkey but COME ON BE CONSIDERATE!!

  • poor Lampwick. This movie was so damn dark for a Disney Film

  • I was 3 when I saw this scene and I wasn't even scared of it not one bit.

  • Hm... So THIS is how I started dreaming about living under water...

  • Aw....I wanted that coachman to get his >:(

Kidnappin children (sure they "wanted" to go but they aren't "old" enough to make their decisions) turning them into donkeys AND selling them two words

    CHILD LABOR

And yet that dude gets NOTHIN geez Disney if any villain deserved to get something for their deeds it's this dude >:(

  • "Father... father?"

    "NEMO! NEMOOOOOO!!!!"

  • @TheHonp HAHAHA! Good one!

  • Under "normal" terms .....uh how did they turn into donkey's .....I don't think doin the stuff they were doin turns ya into a donkey.....

(only black magic :P or whatever does that crap)

  • man i hate when this happens to me on my way to school

  • Watching the little donkey's I mean boys cry makes me sad :(

  • yay boys get turned to jackasses for being bad and girls get nothing :D !!!!!!!!

  • i remember when i was like four, this part scaried me into being a good girl... i dream about this part sometimes

  • I feel sorry for Lampwick in a way. He has to be the sacraficial lamb for Pinnochio to see what was going to happen to him. This scene kept me off this film for years.

  • LOVE the underwater scene the fish are so sweet! and Like the boys more than donkeys than before... but really scary... don't know how to deal with it tonight!

  • LOVE the underwater scene the fishes are so sweet! and Like the boys more than donkeys than before... but really scary... don't know how to deal with it tonight!

  • The whole Pleasure Island set up seems like a pretty elaborate and expensive way to get your hands on a donkey. It might be easier to just, y'know, buy a donkey :P

  • Wat do are they gonna do to the donkeys that can talk? :(

  • @saralavedure17 I always figured they'd just make it so that they can't. :(

  • Is the island cursed or something? How and why are these boys becoming donkey's?

  • @DanNZ4 the beer and the cigaretts had something in them

  • @TheSkittels98 i doubt that because remember how honest john reacted when the guy said something about pleasure island. That must mean there's something evil or whatever on the island that makes them become donkey's. That's all i can think of but i know it can't be the beer or cigaretts. that's impossible.

  • Were-Donkeys, how do u like that?

  • Poor donkeys :'(

  • perverted fish...

  • Not only is this animals but also children. So mixing the two helps create sympathy and makes it more fucked up.

  • all these jackasses lmfao!!!!!! XD

  • I honestly can't stop laughing at Pinocchio's expressions on 1:32-1:44. xD

  • Okay, Pinocchio I believe could breath underwater, but Jiminy? That just seems a little TOO out of the ordinary.

  • I hate the coachman. I liked the video game for SNES, cause you got to knock him off of a cliff :3

  • how did father and kitty and fish got stuck by the whale?

  • Was she really the dove? It may have been a pet bird that belonged to her.

  • That Blue Fairy as a dove giving Pinocchio the letter kind of bugs me. But then again, how else would he find out where his dad is?

  • If you watched Hot Shots Part Deux, they used the quote "Oh Mr,Geppeto

  • Comment removed

  • @thenostalgiakid1 he said " I've been framed"

  • Wow, Jiminy Cricket can sure hold his breath a long time. o_O

  • Wouldn't he turn into a wooden donkey though? Like a rocking horse?

  • Hoodlum :D

  • 2:24 I've been raped!

  • my whole family is a total DISNEY FAN! pinochio is my dad's fave! :D and it's coz of this part of the show..

  • so donkey from Shrek was actually a boy from Pleasure Island!
