Thank goodness he saved the bird. He did it the correct way too without further injuring the bird. Patience is what it took. Kudos to the person seeing it and to the workers!
@sikkepossu Yes, the boom lift truck was sent specifically for this, I called, and they showed up about 15 minutes later. I was actually quite pleased they went out of their way to do this. :) Not really a waste of money when it took all of 8 minutes from him showing up to finishing and leaving, and life was saved..
@StreaksSkunk Good on ya for taking care of this bird and not just ignoring it's plight. I'd like to live in a neighbourhood (a world) full of people like you who show concern for "the least of these..." Thanks!
@sikkepossu you shouldn't be worrying about these kind of little good things, it's 0,0001% of the real waste going on with idiots in charge of everything
@milton123 a living thing is a living thing... Clearly I'm not like you, I may not like seagulls, but I'd never want to see one die a horrible death like that... I would think you'd want help getting unstuck if you were in a life-threatening situation you couldn't get yourself out of.
@Ericotheriault I updated the blurb up there a little bit! Next time you get a chance, tell him he's a great guy for doing such an awesome job :) He really gave NSP a boost in how I feel about them as I watched that lol ... I'd also love to see that picture that he took while he was up there haha!
Hi! We'd like to showcase your video on a national American TV show. Please feel free to send me a message on here or email me at maryal.miller[at]rightthisminute[dot]com - Thanks!
@crxtech1 There is no part 2 lol, I was taking photos for the paper while this was all going on after I stopped recording video, so I didn't get video of the release. But the gull was fine, the lineman brought it down to the ground to let go, and it flew away. lol
@ashornys I think he did quite well, he got up there, assessed what the best way to do it was, then proceeded... he just showed up and hopped right into the bucket and didn't really have time to think beforehand.. lol
@ashornys dartmouth, actually. Well, the guy even said he'd never quite seen something that, odd.. how the bird managed to get its head in between the braided power lines will always remain a mystery. lol
@ashornys I know I wouldnt just jump in with power lines, theres certain protocol you have to follow im assuming. And concidering it only took him about two minutes to get it in stuck, I think he did pretty well =)

Don't say that the platform crane car was brought the scene just for that seagull. If it was - What a waste of money.

@Leopardipzg - Maybe if we all take care of our own 0,0001% of the world, it'll become the kind of place we'd all want to live in.

@sikkepossu how is it a waste of money?? did you say it was a waste of money when they spend $20 million to save 33 Chile miners??
Snada547 1 month ago
@Snada547 You are comparing one seagull to 33 people. Are you healthy?
sikkepossu 1 month ago
@sikkepossu yes i am comparing that two and yes i'm very healthy. life is a life, no matter how small it is.
