It's a good video on position and all, it's just at the beginning of the video that riders legs were being thrown around a lot and she seemed to be leaning forward int he saddle too much.
I'm not one to judge, I'm just curious as the why the instructor didn't pick this up as she was riding.
the beggining intro was not too bad..its like you've never done any of those things before? if you think its so bad, make a video yourself. (egasser888) It's a good video to show riders correct elbow conformation.
The footage at the beginning of the video is horrid. How can a person ride such a beautiful horse on the forehand , completly collapsed on the forehand? it is awful , does not do justice to the horse, just ruin the poor horse and later one you will find croockeness, joints problem, back problem , just irresponsible. I just wonder why anyone would choose such video as their intro ? the rider in the intro has windshield wipper legs, jumping hands , DEFINITELY NEEDS TO WATCH THE VIDEOS GOOD GRIEF !
This is the best reining video I've encountered yet. I think for most people it's hard to understand what sitting "down" in the saddle means but the mechanics of it all in your video I think gives a lot of clarity to it.
Solid info. I think of it as you also you are using your strong biceps and big back muscles in a direct line to exert force to the bit and not wasting exerted force on pushing and pulling the reins in other directions.
if that womans 5'8 that horse is way over 16.2 and probly over 17. Id guess hes almost 18hh, Im 5'9 and ride a 17.2 WB and can see over his back. just a guess.
I always have my arms straight and its the worst habit but i do try to stop it. like i bend my arms and it helps my horse get on the bit so much easier.
wow...thanxs thats rly helpful. i always put my hands forward. i never knew that it could affect u like that. my instructor keeps telling me to pull my arms back a little but i never knew wat he ment..now i kno...
isn't it funny that this is titled "a murdoch minute" when is is acually three and a half minutes. Very good tip lol, my instructer does that pulling the reins from the ground thing as well.
shit your a dumbass... just ride the fn horse...........

I love Wendy's book: Simplify your Riding. She obviously is extremely knowledgable and continues the Centered Riding evolution.
