Well, bike/pedestrian against a car will always loose. Even in pedestrian crossing you should always be more carefull. What's the use being right when you're all screwed up in a hospital? I rather stop and look before crossing
sorry but i think the kids fault for not showing more care for their own lives, but the drivers as well for not slowing down as a precaution even if he couldn't see the peds.
i dont know about this. i think the little truck was in the right. think about it. at that angle the truck couldnt see the crosswalk signs through the other truck. plus the kids are RIDING thier bikes across. if i remember right they say to WALK your bike across so this doesnt happen. never trust that everyone will stop at a crosswalk....be carefull people.
haha well in the pickups defense the truck was blocking the road signs and the bikers. but still should have been markings on the road to indicate ped crossing. not like the driver in the pickup did it intentionally, he was just wrong place wrong time.
@tchnowiz999 I agree with you. I have been driving in the same spot as the large truck, and wondered if the car to my left would see around me and notice the pedestrian about to cross.
In this scenario, I purposely did not stop, so as to keep the pedestrian from crossing (and maybe being run over by the vehicle to my left).
The biker is a bloody fool by crossing at such a speed. When he would have been walking nothing would have happened.

That's right... I don't think he could have seen the crosswalk signs with that big truck in the way.
I think "Guilty with an explanation" is the appropriate plea in this case... or would be if it was in Canada

Bull. I didn't see any signs indicating some crosswalk in the middle of the street.
And he is being screened by the truck so he saw nothing untill impact.
