  • im almost positive this is Berlin High school gym. if so they are they worst and most pathetic volleyball program known to man. my squad played them and in three sets they scored less than 10 points. these kids are too dumb to understand how bad they are.bhaha

  • Stupid!

  • Why is everybody still explaining how the libro attacked the ball? The top comments from a year ago explained it already...

  • dude libero can attack but he is stationed in zone 5 so he is unable to. if he spike, it must be beyond 10ft line.

  • Haha there are a lot of people wrong here lets just clarify...a Libero can not set up a hitter when infront of the 10 foot line. Obviously he can not leave his feet infront of the 10 foot line either like any other player. He may also not jump the height of the net. His ARM may not clear the height of the net like a front row hitters would. His feet my leave the ground as long as he is not clearing the net and is not infront of the 10 foot line.

  • it's called a pipe

  • you guys suck

  • Wow, you are all wring. You can play libero and you can jump and set and your feet can leave the ground, when you hit you have to jump before the 10 ft line if your foot is on the line when you jump its illegal, as the same for any backrow player.

  • weaaak

  • @CandieeLoVa23 just shut up if you don't know what you're talking about!

  • liberos feet need to stay on the ground and cannot leave the ground where I play...

  • GAY! i can do a better job of a libero! and to add both teams suck! i bet this highschool level

  • @B0livian14 This is really low level shit volleyball. Both teams SUCK big time.

  • booooooo

  • This team is doo doo

  • Liberos can attack higher than the net, but only if they're not past the 10-foot line. They can still pas within the ten foot line, but they can't pass/attack/spike the ball to the other side when they're inside the ten-foot zone

  • @kimchipowered

incorrect, libero at all times cannot deliver the ball to the opponent above the height of the net

and it is legal for the libero to put the ball to the other side in any way as long as it is not above the height of the net (well, of course the ball would stil have to travel between the antennas)

  • Tmanjunior4 has it correct - Thank you. But be careful, the libero CAN set the ball inside the ten foot line. What cannot happen is to then have the ball attacked above the plane of the net.

  • This team sucks. at 0:06 number 2 runs with his hands together.

  • this team sucks

  • yup I confirm... you can have libero attack that 5 ft tall even in the front row as long as the contact of the ball is below the top of the net. I am also a certified referee.

  • @SuperMuaha A libero can attack from the back row as long as the ball is not completely above the net.

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperMuaha And I've coached High School volleyball for the past 6 seasons. I know what I'm talking about. Do a simple google search of "libero attack rules" and find the exact rule in quite a few places.

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperMuaha volleyball. org /rules /libero. html

Youtube won't let you put websites in comments, so just take out the spaces. Look at the first rule.

  • ISSO NÃO PODE!!!!!!!!

  • The libero cannot attack the ball at all

  • by the looks of it the libero didnt jump over the net so he didnt do a back row attack...

  • That's a back row attack, libero can't attack, it's illegal. How can the ref not call that.

  • wow i was expecting some good volleyball not jv crap

  • ok lib cant attack the ball above the net.. period

  • liberos cant attack.... period!!!!!

  • hes soooo gooood!!!!!!!!!!!!! not....

  • Rules has change for the past centuries. For those who said thats illegal. You guys played like 100 years ago. lol!............. Its like before if the ball touches the net its counted a point againts to the team.

  • @nikeshocksshocks you are so dumb.

  • @ilusq Well, I dont believe that because only dumb person can call someone dumb. Why would I believe a dumb person like you?

  • @nikeshocksshocks libero still cant attack, why do u think they dont just put an outside as libero, almost as good a passer and could hit for every rotation, think about it and tell me when you've seen a pro or college libero attack.......

  • @OHvball I have seen a lot of libero that attacks. especially in college.

  • haha! That shoudln't have counted. Liberos cannot jump if the ball is higher than the net. Only down balls. And who said Destinee Hooker is a libero!? lmao Heather Kisner is not hooker.

  • that dude can't just higher than the net. He can do what he wants. It'll never be illegal.

  • @MrYankeeTex JUMP i mean.

  • I'm playing libero. If I get to do the Pipe in my position its always points. because the balls go straight then its top spin goes straight down. and the positions of the players are now use to it. So I think its a good idea that Libero will attack sometimes.

  • liberos can attack as long as it is behind the ten foot line, but the libero should not have had to attack the ball anyway....the team does not have a good middle back/hitter if he's not aware of sets meant for that position.

  • god, this is the crappy volleyball team, why would the setter set to libero

  • wrong libero cannot attack

  • lol u dont shit bout volleyball...hopefully u noe now

  • libero cant attack

  • Te entire ball needs to be over the hight of the net for it to qualify as an attacking play. They cant jump for a block, set, or hit inside the 3 metre. They also can't be the captain of the team.

  • liberos can only attack if they dont attack the ball when its higher than the net

  • @ChefJeremy2001 No, its only if you're behind the spike line. btw, i am a libero for my team.

  • @Tyni155923451 No, a libero at any time can not deliver the ball from above the height of the net to the other side, if by the "spike line" u mean the 3m line, if the libero spikes in front of it it would be an illegal back court attack anyway

    btw, im a qualified referee

  • @ChefJeremy2001 liberos can spike above the net, but liberos cant spike cross the line. PS. i am a libero

  • libero can attack... only difference to a normal player is that they only play back court and switch without callin subs... so think if u were in the back court, u could hit but it has to be before the attack line

  • Im a LIbero and we CAN attack! we just have to jump b4 the 10' line! the only thing we can do is block and attach from in front of the 10' line :) thank you verry much it is now settled :)

  • no you can't.

  • You can you just have to be behind the 10' line when you jump!

    i know i play!

  • stfu. no you can't. i live in the number one province for developing volleyball. i play ava club. trust me. you can;t.

  • wrong lol you cannot attack a ball thats over the height of the net. learn the rules =]

  • if you look at the video, hes jumping behind the 10 foot line!! so he can attack! an if you watched the camionship game last night with Penn State, and Texas, Hooker would always attack, she would jump behind the 10 foot line, but land inside the 10 foot line :) thank you :)

  • lmfao hooker is an outside hitter. stop embarassing yourself on youtube. libero cannot attack the ball over the height of the net, or set with their hands in front of the 10 ft line among other rules they must follow obviously. go away

  • I thought that it was a libero couldn't attempt to block or block? Does it go the same for an attack, too?

  • that's against the rules, libero can roll, but can't jump for an attack.

  • libero can;t atack, you dont know te rules....

  • The libero complete an attack above the height of the net anywhere on the court, including the back row.

Theoretically this means that if the libero happened to be 6'9 with longg arms that would be above the height of the net if he reached up, he wouldn't be able to volley a ball over the net.

Technically, volleying a ball over the net is completing an attack.

  • a libero is a defensive specialist. under fivb rules he/she is not allowed to make any offensive shots, which this one clearly was. that said, that was still a pretty wicked hit. :)

  • that was the greatest hit in the history of volleyball, Tyler Capko would be proud

  • referee is a noob!

  • its illegal for the libero to jump over the net . . unless its not an attaackin shot , but this clearly was,, but it was prob like div 4 or div 5 so there shit anyways, so it doesnt matter too much at all

  • he didnt even jump close to being over the net.

  • the libero cant jump over the net and attack or set if they are in FRONT of the 10 foot line... otherwise, they can do whatever they want.

  • no a libero cannot jump over the net at all and play an attacking shot. Even on back court if his hand was above the height of the net it's illegal. It looked to be below though.

  • liberos are allowed to jump as long as they don't make contact with the ball over the top of the net.

and pretty sure he made contact over the top of the net but hard to thing to call.

  • 9 times out of 10 they're gonna get called... im pretty sure that the ref just didnt know that rule

  • libero can't jump at all, when it's doing third touch.

  • A libero attack is legal as long as 1) the libero attacks from BEHIND the 10 foot line 2) no part of the libero is over the top of the net. If the libero can attack without being over the top of the net, its legal.

  • Yeah, but try jumping and not get your hands above the net, lol.

It's true what you say. But it's impossible, really =P

  • Next you will be telling me you can hit the ball off the roof and play sets up to 30 :)

  • wait is that sarcasm?

because college goes to 30, and u can play the ball off the roof if it lands on the same sides who touched it last.

  • You're drunk.

  • Your dumb dude they always let you play the ball if it hits the roof as long as it comes down the same side refs let you know before the game what they call legal.

And in highschool as long as the libero isnt infront of the tenfoot and dont jump above the net.

  • Dude, don't be such a pussy. Everyone knows that ifyou don't want to break the plane of the net while attacking in the back row, you must be 1.50m.

Don't start correcting this 'funny' comment. I just think it's weak you have to get your satisfaction out of correcting small points in youtube.

Pretty pathetic if you ask me. So please just... sshush!

    Thank you

  • yet youre doing the same thing...

  • libero's can attack as long as they don't break the plane of the net

  • ok these guys r pretty bad if u ask me

  • sloppy vball

  • LIBEROS CANT ATTACK...in other words.. feet have to stay on the ground.. roll the ball over in stead!!

what rules was this team and ref playing with:s

  • back row can jump and spike the ball as long as they jump before the attack line

  • Yeah, but where do you play? C? B?

Cuz a libero may NOT attack, if they do it's a point for the other side.

Libero may only pass or set

  • well libero's dont have to just pass or set, they can attack as long as they dont jump. so basically they roll the ball back over

  • finally someone who gets the concept...

  • I have played libero for 2 years and ive learned to keep your feet on the ground unless in warm up. simple, that ref is a dumbass

  • Well it doesn't even matter if he attacked...

    Both teams suck anyways.

  • one time our libero jumped from the backrow and blocked a ball. match point too.

  • well then, your ref was an idiot

  • yeah

  • I agree with BisforBreaa

  • The rules say

The libero is restricted to perform as a back row player and isnt allowed to complete an attack hit from anywhere if at the moment of contact, the ball is entirely above the top of the net.

  • this i found in the rules

The libero is restricted to perform as a back row player and isnt allowed to complete an attack hit from anywhere if at the moment of contact, the ball is entirely above the top of the net.

  • ma ke kazzo è...il libero attakka qui===?ma ke regola è?...bha...strano...al mio paese si fiskia se il libero attakka...l'arbitro idiota o una partita fasulla

  • aren't liberos not allowed to attack???

  • el libero no puede atacar por sobre el nivel de la huincha de la malla ¬¬!

como se la arman a él ?

    ^o)

  • arent americans always trying to be different.thats why im cursing nationalities Pcolt. I play world rules, hence why i made the comment.Look at video above.Dont they have sets up to 30 in college volleyball. i think i saw it somewhere on ESPN where a set wasnt over at 29-26.Thus,proving my point.

  • Well, somehow you managed to avoid recognizing that in your previous post you totally misstated the libero-attack rule and also cited the wrong rule number. The above video doesn't prove anything.

  • I don't see how the 30-point set in NCAA is related. But since you brought it up, the NCAA made this modification when it first switched to rally scoring, because it was concerned about the matches being too short. FYI they are switching to 25-point sets in the fall of 2008.

  • hahaha mike i could hear coach haha and all these people arguing through your comments haha loosers :p

  • wow, LEARN TO SPELL LIBERO IDIOT

  • Liberos can attack BUT they must be below the height of the net AND have two feet firmly on the ground.you're screwed if u have a tall libero, methinks! check out rule 19.3.1.4 where it states clearly the actions of the libero. Goddamn Americans.....

  • It doesn't matter whether they're standing on the floor or jumping. All that matters is whether the ball is completely above the height of the net at the moment of contact. Get it right before you start cursing nationalities. The key rule is 19.3.1.2.

  • The very definition of an "attack" is a ball contacted above the height of the net. If it's below the net, it's not an attack. Libero's cannot attack under FIVB rules. Not sure what kind of screwed up rules theyre playing here (probably USAV, from what I've seen of that rulebook, they should call it a different sport).

  • o i no, how they play in the states is something else. those rules are so messed up

  • Chck out Rule 19.3.1.4 which clarifies lieros cant attack except when 2 feet are on the ground and the attack is lower than the net

  • This is not true. An attack is any ball other than a serve or a block that is directed to the opponent's court.

  • Yes, the FIVB says you can`t attack above the hight of net like libero. you are rigth

  • you guys are dumb, liberos CAN attack but from back row and they can get above the net when they hit.

  • *they CANT get above the net, i meant.

  • no they cant stop talking you probably play like 6th grade girls junior high ball

  • sorry your wrong even in the fivb a libero is allowed to attack the ball just there hand has to be below the plane of the net when they hit the ball sorry but know your shit before you come on here and be a dumbass

  • OK!, your retarted, you dont even know so dont go blabbing your mouth. im a high school carsity player. you probably practice on a girls net.

  • im a varsity player too......and with my club we're the top team in eastern north america i think i know my shit dude. doesnt matter where u play u can google this shit buddy

  • at least someone knows

  • Duh you cant jump from the baack row...and liberos dont hit...

  • The libero can't atack

  • ma non si può fare!!!!!!!!

  • no, you are, deal with it.

  • incredible :D

  • Im a libero and i went for a hit from backrow, and we lost a point... =( ..... im pretty short maybe 5'4 playing on a highschool net

  • and your a guy? D:

  • most refs will call a automatic loss of points as long as the libero is suspended and back row attacks- cameras, linesmen, and the up-ref him/herself cannot judge preciously the height difference of ball contact and the tape unless its ridiculously obvious.

  • hollandhusker is correct. a libero has the rite to strike the ball while suspeneded in mid air behind the attack line (like every backrow first-defensive players)...BUT the contact at which the libero makes with the ball exceeds the height of the net results in an automatic loss of point. HOWEVER: REFS have calls on how the point will be processed

  • Tough huh? Admitting your mistakes.. Doesn't matter, you'll learn it some time in your life.

  • Still both of you are wrong. The libero IS allowed to hit, even with a jump but IS NOT allowed to hit when his hand touches the ball above the net height. So in case of a 4 ft. libero with a jump of 2 inches it is allowed. Understood? No both go read the rules and stop cursing.

  • NO, it's NOT the same thing stupid retard...spiking is when you're in the air...downball is wayyyy different...it's just hitting without jumping...NOW, in the video, if you're not blind...that libero jumped and hit...that's illegal...I don't think you play volleyball...because if you do, I feel sorry for your team...you're clueless...

  • actually you're wrong too.

  • LOL! llive4bbal152, you're stupid...ferr17 is right!! you CAN'T spike if you're a libero! they can only do a DOWNBALL a.k.a hitting the ball while standing...back at you buddy...who's the dumb one here? YOU!!! puahahahah...

  • that was illegal liberos are not suppos to spike lol
