I think there are quite a few people who want her to. I myself am not one of them - I think it's a great dynamic for the show to have with them having had a relationship but it not working out seems more realistic.

Also, I think Ted's quest for love is that much more moving if it isn't Robin - I mean if it is, then that kind of renders everything else moot.

(That said, there is definative proof that she isn't the mother...so this whole post is moot.)

I disagree with regards to this song not being "fresh".

I personally think this slower, acoustic version seems more emotive than the original. Not saying it's better, but it evokes different feelings, primarily a sense of euphoria and change. That said, I love The Cure, and the original version.
