But its only a 5K nothing close to what you ran!!

Not a lot. I think I saw 3 or 4 while I was running. It was a small marathon though. in a bigger one like the Tokyo Marathon, I assume there must be many!

Thanks a lot. I have to admit though, my quads hurt like hell at the end though. I already have new training plans brewing....to make my next one better. Now I have my goal time (4:10). I've also been daydreaming about doing a 66km ultra next Fall...still in the daydreaming phase tough :)

Otsukare sama on marathon! You seemed like you still had more energy to go farther. I would be dead from exhaustion right after finish. So was it a little easier to run strong than training? Mine is coming soon. I'm very excited!

I think the sports gels I took were key to finishing strong. I'd recommend taking 3 with you if you could. Man, I hope you'll make a vid about your run :)

Great job man! I work with a lot of runners and one Triathelete (her boyfriend is one too). My dad was a big runner. I used to go down to the ocean with him and watch him run when we lived in Okinawa. He'd run and I'd wander around looking over the sea wall at the water. I never got bored and I never jogged. Once again, good job.

Cool! So, you lived in Okinawa? Was your father in the service? Must have been a neat place to spend some time as a kid. Did you ever see a "mamushi"...the poison vipers that live in Okinawa? I've read about them.

I just ran a marathon as well. My time wasn't too good but I was just glad I made it to the finish line. I had to ice my knee afterwards. I guess I need to train more like you did for your's.

Finishing it is the key! My goal was simply to finish. Now that I did it, I'll set more goals :) My legs were sore too, but luckily I had Advil to help me through it.

Advil and bananas are just awesome after a marathon. I plan to run another one in upcoming months. Good luck to us both. Hopefully, I won't be as sore as this time. I much rather be like you at the finish line, nice and relaxed. Did you get a medal for the finish? You should show it if you did.

First place folks normally do win something, but he finished a few hours before I did so I missed the awards ceremony!! hehe This was a small marathon though. At the International ones like the Tokyo Marathon, I think the cash prizes are really big.

I never noticed that! It appears so. I did see a lot of guys pass out or throwing up. It was a really hot day for a marathon. It went up to about 24C
