Tell me, O muse, of that ingenious hero who travelled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy. Many cities did he visit, and many were the nations with whose manners and customs he was acquainted; moreover he suffered much by sea while trying to save his own life and bring his men safely home; but do what he might he could not save his men, for they perished through their own sheer folly in eating the cattle of the Sun-god Hyperion;
Congrats BK! That's amazing. I'm planning to do my first marathon next fall, the Chicago Marathon. Best wishes on your future races. Maybe you'll bring the camera along the next time around. ;-)
Thanks a lot! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun doing that run. Never matters what the distance, just as long as you're out on the road running and having a good time :)
Not a lot. I think I saw 3 or 4 while I was running. It was a small marathon though. in a bigger one like the Tokyo Marathon, I assume there must be many!
Thanks a lot. I have to admit though, my quads hurt like hell at the end though. I already have new training plans brewing....to make my next one better. Now I have my goal time (4:10). I've also been daydreaming about doing a 66km ultra next Fall...still in the daydreaming phase tough :)
Thanks a lot! It was cool that PJ came out to film as well. I had no desire to bring my camera with me. I'm running a 10k next month and I may bring my camera along for that one :)
Awesome man, I was beginning to worry a bit with the gap, but great to see you got through it, and in good shape by the looks of it too. Huge congrats man, excellent!
Thanks for the good wishes!! Man...Hong Kong....looked like a cool time. While I was running my marathon along the yodo river, I saw several rugby games going on...plus an American football match! Thought of you when I saw the rugby :)
OOOOOOh Kebin Teecha! It's so good to see you again. I discovered 'BusanKevin' while reminiscing, and vid-searching, about Korea. Liked your Busan goin-to-the-movies vid a lot (ojingah!). I was very happy to see you, even if not in person. Glad you're still running. Congrats on school and marriage (God, an asian girl--wish I had one). These days I'm doin' an american (you know what they're like). She's married.
Doin' any drummin'? Glad you're healthy and happy. Glad you're making these vids.
Otsukare sama on marathon! You seemed like you still had more energy to go farther. I would be dead from exhaustion right after finish. So was it a little easier to run strong than training? Mine is coming soon. I'm very excited!
Thanks man! You're going to do awesome in yours this weekend? What is the name of the marathon you're running in?? Sounds like you've trained well so you'll be fine. I think the sports gels I took were key to finishing strong. I'd recommend taking 3 with you if you could. Man, I hope you'll make a vid about your run :)
Mine is 16th. I hope it won't be raining. It's called Shounan international marathon. Yes I will take 3 energy gels as you recommend. And of course I will make the vid somehow!
Cool. Even just some before and after footage would be very cool. Good luck this weekend. Remember to make sure you can gets lots of salt during the run.
Great job man! I work with a lot of runners and one Triathelete (her boyfriend is one too). My dad was a big runner. I used to go down to the ocean with him and watch him run when we lived in Okinawa. He'd run and I'd wander around looking over the sea wall at the water. I never got bored and I never jogged. Once again, good job.
Cool! So, you lived in Okinawa? Was your father in the service? Must have been a neat place to spend some time as a kid. Did you ever see a "mamushi"...the poison vipers that live in Okinawa? I've read about them.
I just ran a marathon as well. My time wasn't too good but I was just glad I made it to the finish line. I had to ice my knee afterwards. I guess I need to train more like you did for your's.
Finishing it is the key! My goal was simply to finish. Now that I did it, I'll set more goals :) My legs were sore too, but luckily I had Advil to help me through it.
Advil and bananas are just awesome after a marathon. I plan to run another one in upcoming months. Good luck to us both. Hopefully, I won't be as sore as this time. I much rather be like you at the finish line, nice and relaxed. Did you get a medal for the finish? You should show it if you did.
Way to go Kevin! What an awesome accomplishment. You looked cool as a cucumber crossing the finish line - like you were just strolling around the block. Good on ya!
First place folks normally do win something, but he finished a few hours before I did so I missed the awards ceremony!! hehe This was a small marathon though. At the International ones like the Tokyo Marathon, I think the cash prizes are really big.
lmfao whats up with the contestants? a luchador and a maid? WTF? i thought that only happened in cartoons but apparently i was wrong!!! and at 2:41 bottom left corner is that someone passed out on the road????
Nice job

Nice going Kevin! You didn't seem tired at all at the finish. I remember after my first marathon, I was nearly dead!
Excellent work on the training and good strategy pacing yourself taking the first half slow.

I never noticed that! It appears so. I did see a lot of guys pass out or throwing up. It was a really hot day for a marathon. It went up to about 24C
