i have a bigyo and i use it for offstring and 1a but 1a is really hard cause its really responsive. is yours somehow unresponsive???

@jeffbulm1 I was using it stock, but I unscrewed it a *tiny* bit so the gap was a little wider. You can put shims on both sides of the bearing if you want a bigger gap.

It doesn't take very long to get good -- a lot of kids practice a ton for 6 months and they're great. Just get a decent ($30ish) yo-yo.

can you use yo yo's with rubber rings not for off string. I have one and i dont use it fore off string and it is verry good?

You can use any yo-yo for anything, pretty much, but rubber rings are better for OS since you have a high chance of dropping it. They're not as good for 1A (on-string) typically, because the rim doesn't have as much weight. Sorry for the late reply. :)
