See my MY FOOLISH HEART please

  • One of my Dad's favourite singers.That's why i am Monika:)))))))))))0

  • All are invited to a BEAUTIFUL Bill Evans master class on his life and music. Type in "Dave Frank" Evans on Youtube. Bill lives!

  • She's gorgeous

  • Oh, I get it. He says "hon kommer från öst-Danmark." That is

funny. I'm sure she appreciated that from behind the curtain. : )

  • It truly boggles my mind to think people no longer sing like this, or play the piano in this fashion, or even dress as they used to 44(+) years ago.

  • zetterland and evans ... two gorgeous gay icons together.

phantastic tender douchy sound for the right moments

like a warm shower for all us male/ male lovers

    your truley

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!! Bill and Monica do it the way it was meant to be done!

  • A quiet storm - tender, passionate, powerful.

  • unbelieve... so great that you faint.

  • This is Hot.

  • Gracias... Bill Evans y Monica, y Eddie, y Michel Legrand... aquello fue verdadera comunión artística y humana.

  • The way she sings this makes me really believe that she's talking about something that actually happened to her in the past.

  • oh my god this is so beautiful

  • must be hard for monica to balance like that when she bows lol. looks like she is about to fall over cuz of that dress. good performance tho!

  • Since you ask 一出生就會了!

  • Underbart! Ryser i hela kroppen.

  • Danish, swedish and norwegian are close to english. We are all parts of Scandinavia in a way. Sweden is probably the country closest to the UK of the Scandinavian countries historically. One example that can prove this is our way to deal with numbers. Fyrtio fyra is fourty four and not four and fourty as in danish and norwegian (and german).

  • @dogofman No offense there, presumably all American Mr. Racist, but those of us who understand Danish (not that I'm Danish; I'm a Swedish speaking person from Finland who has taken a few minutes to learn English as well) are well enough off to not whine because we don't understand.

He didn't say much of importance - just an unnecessarily outdrawn introduction. You're just as well off hopefully at least understanding the frog like accent she wears upon your o holy English...well, American.

  • I'm sorry. I think I just tried to be facetious instead.

I heard of some scientific report that showed that danish kids learn to speak a bit later than other kids. And the explanation was that danish has evolved very rapidly over latest century or so. And the evolution have made it ever harder to distinguish different spoken word sounds. The kids don't learn the language as eary because it's simply harder to hear the difference between different words.

I'm a swedish speaking swede by the way.

  • I wonder how long it takes for the Chinese to learn their language.

  • Wonderful - thanks for posting

  • I love the lyrics... And with her accent, I can almost see the small flower store, or street cafe.

  • Wonderful presentation by the west-Swedish man in the beginning :) and of coerce a wonderful performance by Bill and Monica!

  • hes danish?

  • Comment removed

  • Listen to the presentation and you'll understand what I mean ;-)

  • haha, sorry mate! i got it now (:

  • No Bill Evans's not danish, he's not.

  • @dogofman

    ..............

  • Yeah!

    I know.

  • @Zarkx2000 Why is this guy getting so many thumbs up? He is wrong. The presentation is not from a west-Swedish man at all. He is danish. The channel is danish too. You see the "DR 2" in the top right corner? Stands for "Danmarks Radio 2" - Denmarks Radio 2. OWNED

  • @MsMarc1234 It's a joke, which you obviously did not understand ;-) I'm from the south of Sweden and have watched and listened to Danish TV and Radio all my life so there is no need for you to point out obvious things :-)

  • @MsMarc1234: By the way, listen to what he say when he present Monica and the joke should be totally clear

  • @Zarkx2000 Lol sorry - I fast forwarded over what he said to get to the song. I feel ridicules, lol :D

  • @MsMarc1234: Don't worry. If you look at previous comments you will see that other have made the same mistake ;-)

  • @Zarkx2000 Lol, thought you were some smartass trying to act like you know what you are talking about; "West-swedish".

  • @Zarkx2000 Nice joke ;) (west-swedish)

  • it's a nice version but I prefer Blossom Dearie's :)

  • She is so beautiful and so artistic!!! :) It is just a sheer pleasure to watch her sing :)

  • His name was Poul Ricard and he was 50 years of one of Denmark's most feterede actors both in film and theater and television. He is unfortunately dead now. Poul Ricard joke about Monica to come from eastern Denmark is linked to the entire south Sweden through 600 years was under the Danish monarchy. But Monica did not come from here, she came from a small town situated in Hagfors region Värmland ... one of Sweden's most beautiful area!

  • His name is Poul Reichhardt

  • sorry ... sorry, you're right! and I actually knew him personally through my grand- father Victor Montell who play with Poul Reichhardt in several movies!

  • nice for you.

  • Värmland was actually stolen from Norway when Norway was Danish, so here we are, one big family :-)

Monica rules, check out "Trubbel", my favourite ....

  • looking for friends

i liked this video :) Pf

  • That is such a nice video. Lovely.

  • Vad fantastiskt vacker hon va, Monica!

  • Sweet.

  • wow man almost brings tears to my eyes.... so much character and personality through the music from bill and monica... incredible..

  • one touch of real style

  • This is so beautiful. What happened to people who could actually sing in the music industry today?

  • What's with the guy telling his life story in the beginning? Was that even relevant? Can anyone give a translation?

Excellent song. I will definitely look for this Zetterlund/Evans album everyone is referring to.

  • It's a danish guy doing an introduction of Monica, and telling some jokes about Sweden.

  • Easy Listening as it was meant to be played. Her voice and the piano compliment each other well. I hear hints of Billie Holiday but maybe that's just me. This really is good stuff.

  • Is there more of this? Zetterlund with Bill evans trio (other than Waltz for Debby.)?

I'd love to see some more, thanks.

  • If you mean more than just that Waltz For Debby clip, yes- they made a whole album together, "Waltz For Debby"...they did Some Other Time and It Could Happen To You on that album, among a bunch of others. You can find it on Amazon.

  • This is so beautiful piece of music..

  • Monica är en av dom bästa jazz sångerskor i världen. Och hon är läskigt vacker

Monica is one of the worlds best jazz singers. And she is really beutiful <3

  • Does anyone have an mp3 of this recording?

  • There was an entire album released of Bill and Monica together...check out Amazon...or if you want to email me, I'll make a copy of it and send to you......

  • SUPERBEYONDO

  • Why there is not much more of her

    If she was sweden's great Jazz singer . . . .

    and She really is ..

Can somebody post more , please

  • Simply superb!

  • "..I was as proud as any girl could be

as if the mayor had offered me the key

    to Paris.." - Johnny Mercer

  • fantastic...is this and/or the 'waltz for debby' footage you posted available on a dvd release? just curious.

  • Swedens firendly neighbour to the west...

    Are ever so loyal, Denmark!

  • So far, I only knew Monica Zetterlund's voice through her duos with Evans. I didn't suspect she was so attractive...a must-have !!

  • She looks like Paris Hilton lol

  • I totally agree : Evans looks like Robert Mac Namara and Gomez like Henry Kissinger...Hahaha

    Mo

  • Hah! But she is a thousand times more talented...

  • Me, neither. Her appearance wasn't relevant to my enjoyment of her musicianship and voice, but now that I've seen a few clips I see how charming she was - and gorgeous as well.

  • What did they need that "singer?" for

  • The words ?

  • suoerbe et si rare.

  • The worlds greatest jazzpianist and the worlds greatest female jazzvocalist !!! Wow !!!

    That cant go wrong !!!!

  • very good, but what does he talk in the beginning?

  • bruno9027: He is just delivering some small talk, they are probably re-arranging the stage behind the curtains. Since the clip is recorded in Denmark he says that "Monica Zetterlund comes from the east of Denmark. Someone call it Sweden." Then he is saying that Monica Zetterlund is beautiful and talented and that Bill Evans and his band have come all the way from the US to play with her.

  • Very tender musicaly by both Bill & Monica

  • Watching the great Bill Evans reminds me of the month I spent in Copenhagen during dead of winter.I had nothing to do except listen to a stack of Evans CD's,make a once-a-day trip to Christiania, and sit in my apartment window and watch the snow and drink coffee.Listening to Bill Evans can have a real mellowing effect on you.

  • bill evans...simply amazing...a master...eternal...

  • this is amazing. RIP monica

  • The guy in the beginning is introducing them :) He is danish. A great danish actor from the 50'es :) Poul Richard is his name :)

  • wow. i love this song.

i really didn't expect to find this on youtube.

except the guy talking in the beginning is like, undecipherable.

    :)
