Never seen a player with pure scoring skills from 15-feet and in than Bernard King. Yeah, Jordan was Jordan, but King had everything, too (except the 3-point shot). Most folks don't realize that you can still win NBA games with 2-pointers, too, and King regularly hit 50 to 58 percent of his field goal attempts and they weren't all dunks... Knicks fans received a treat every night he stepped on the court. Congrats 4 years late, Bernard...
to me the best player in Bullet / Wizard history. but ? Y is he not on the Wizard website? is he in the NBA top 50? is he in the H.O.F. yet? if not this is the biggest snub in league history. The come back . back then!!! SMH
Damn he looks different!! Also they messed up on the jersey it should say 74-77. Also since he was from Brooklyn how did he end up at Tennessee? Tennessee had no tradition in basketball back then.
Wow...Thanks for posting that..I still get chills when I think of watching the Ernie and Bernie show when I was a kid...There was in my opinion no better duo than those guys and a lot of people seem to forget how much Bernard dominated Michael jordan when He first came into the NBA...In fact I remember Bernie dropping a cool 54 on him at one time...Just an amazing player and one certainly overlooked.
king was one bad dude... he sure made ky eat their share of crow... overlooked in nba too... before knees got crushed... no one, & I mean NO ONE could stop king... the premiere offensive foward force of his era.

It was an assistant coach who recruited him. Dominique Wilkens said he has the tougest he ever had to guard. His quote. "he was a beast."

Dr. J states that Bernard King is the best player he played against. That is all you need to know!
