@CarNutandTrainNut2 Until I see NS, TVRM, or the KXHR release anything about it I'm not gonna put much stock in that. Would be awesome if it happened, just doesn't seem realistic. I do believe there probably will be a 630 excursion later this year though.
@HaloCE14 How about this. Send them to Norfolk VA first and turn them around send them to horse shoe curve. Now that would be a chase and a lot of gas lol
Dang! 2,222 views!!! Humm special thanks to Mr Mean Gene for the heads up! lol.
Good thing that I found out huh? Just kidding bro, I wanted someone I knew in the area to be able to catch this for sure!!! Totally awesome shots! Wish I could have been there with ya to see her!!! FANTASTIC!!!
There were only a handful chasing her...........and its kindof hard to follow her when she is running 40 and you are on a 2 lane road with some numbskull in front of you (non railfan of course).
Great coverage of the historic run, its been over a decade since the last steam on NS rails. If I had been paying attention I could have made it up there, would have been worth it even with the clouds.
The line from Chattanooga to Cleveland does not see a whole lot of traffic (most notable is the NS 202, some general merchandise and the occasional coal drag).
@HaloCE14 It probably won't do a heck of alot, as I'd imagine they get a gazillion letters from foamers across the country saying restore this engine or run that excursion to anywhere USA. Patience, young padawan. ;)
Gorgeous little Consolidation, isn't she? 630, former Kentucky and Tennessee Rwy. 10. Now, if they can get my girl (4501) up and running for her 100th birthday this year, I'd be ecstatic! Too bad they didn't run her on up to her old stomping ground in Stearns, KY. Great video, beautiful locomotive. NS finally got their heads outta their behinds and brought steam back to the Kentucky Division.
Very, very cool and very exciting too! I wish I had known about this sooner so I could have sped up there. Glad you got it Tom. She looks good stretching her legs doing track speed.
Is she roller bearing?
barronzm 6 months ago
@barronzm
The tender and lead truck are roller bearing, everything else is friction bearing.
