The NWA in 85-88 used to outdraw the WWF all the time in my hometown Chicago (Flair and the hometown Road Warriors had a lot to do with that) and Philly. Jim Crockett Promotions would be mentioned in the Sun Times or Tribune while the WWF would rarely get a blip. I chalk that up to Flair and the NWA roster being more credible in the ring. Flair was clearly more popular than Hogan in Chicago, Philly and Baltimore based on drawing money as the WWF rarely traveled there for big shows after 84.
