well one came out of the cockpit, was talking to the flight attendents about something, went back in. Then the other went out of the cockpit to go to the bathroom. besides that they do say " the flight crew today is captain w/e and first officer w/e." its really not to hard to imagine...

Most of the time control the takeoffs/landings; Make sure everything is ready prior to takeoff.

Im pretty sure thats against FAA regulations, someone has to be behind the controls at all times during the flight.

It is, I do not believe him. There is a rule, there must be two people, not pilots, but people in the cockpit at all times.
