There is another possibility(maybe many) that the economy collapses and a revolution is undertaken, Will we setup a new Republic and/or return to our former Constitution and Bill of Rights, is the question.

I think we may all make that mistake, from time to time. His use of the vernacular to reach the "public" is understandable, although it might offend some. But as i had said, he has a consistent record on these issues and while we actually do live in a republic (as corrupted as it is becoming by the traitors from the last five administrations, in particular), many people unfortunately refer to it as a democracy. Roberts DOES know the difference, semantic as the issue is in this case.

The President cannot prevent a case from reaching the courts. The Judiciary is a separate branch of the gov. Roberts is talking about is that presidents have assumed a role they do not have, namely interpreting the Constitution. Only courts can declare a law unconstitutional. The Executive can only enforce/implement the law. Bush 2 and now Obama have tried to use the act of signing as a ratification of the law's constitutionality. So it depends on who wins a revolution in regards to the final political system.

The President cannot prevent a case from reaching the courts. The Judiciary is a separate branch of the gov. Roberts is talking about is that presidents have assumed a role they do not have, namely interpreting the Constitution. Only courts can declare a law unconstitutional. The Executive can only enforce/implement the law. Bush 2 and now Obama have tried to use the act of signing as a ratification of the law's constitutionality. Roberts, however, greatly exaggerates this - as usual.
