  • If this video doesn't make people wear chaps, nothing will! Even when cutting up firewood, I still wear chaps/cutting helmet because you never know what's going to happen. I laugh at people who say otherwise

  • Your vid is a favorite on Guatemala

  • Wearing Chainsaw Leg Protection saved my leg just a few days ago

  • they saved my leg

  • unnecessary comment at 2:20. I already did, thank you.

  • I spent many years falling timber and logging is BC Canada.. I don't think chaps are the way to go.. get the pants with the pads sewn in.. chaps are too easily spun around your leg leaving it exposed..some of the newer pants have the pad almost completely around the leg and offer much better protection than chaps.. chaps suck and none of the pros I know wear them. pants rule!!

  • were and how much r chainsaw chaps?

  • @kxdirtrider85 any saw shop should have them, big r, major retailers like tractor supply, etc.

i paid about 70 bucks for mine, which is pricey, but how much is keeping a limb really worth?

    @66665555

whether you "cut like an idiot" or not, kickback and various other things could still cause you to get injured, and in a lot of cases your chain brake isn't gonna help.

  • I'm really gonna make the effort to always wear my PPE after watching this. Thanks for posting.

  • when i cut my leg it didn't tear it cut lol

  • lol this video almost made me want to wear chaps but then i remembered i dont cut like an idiot. jk i always have the chainbreak on when moving around until the chain is actually touching the wood does the chainbrake get released.

  • good suggestion, using the chainbreak. sooo many don't use it. that I believe, is when most people hit their leg, while moving around and the chain is still moving

  • chaps good. "this video is graphic...". how silly. yes, i will be having nightmares of picnic hams being carved. people are such whiny girls today.

  • I am sold!!! I just barely nicked my leg 3 days ago, not much blood but one hell of a wake-up call!

  • exactly what you said! I just cut myself with a gas hedge trimmer. No major damage or stiches but if that had been a chainsaw I'd be in deep trouble. I'm going to go buy some nice chucks.

  • Great Video! One of the guys on our crew was fired because he refused to where his safety equipment. the last job he worked for he cut through his boot and has been off work now for the entire season. You would be a Damned fool if you listen to the people who say you are a pussy for using this..but if you walk in with this equipment they may hire you on the spot.

  • think they forgot to mention that with those new safety pants you -MUST- change them if you cut through 2 layers of kevlar.

  • I didn't know that

  • lol i was one of those people saying not me and it happened yesterday, cut to the knee just lovely

  • You know I have never used protective chaps before but I am gonna go get some tomorrow

  • Hey there! Love the video. I just posted our video with our chap tests. Hope you like it.

  • "peterbuilduramax" - I must agree... after all accidents do not occur if you're experienced.... haha.... what a fucking douchebag...

  • lol your a dick just wait till you cut yourself then youll be thinking well actually i should really start wearing em cos once its happened to you belive me you wont want it happening again!!!!

  • Just yesterday I cut myself just below the knee cap. I pulled the saw away from myself as soon as I realized what had happened, nevertheless, it did extensive damage to my leg. If I were wearing chaps my injury could have been entirely avoided. Anyone who is using a saw should seriously consider purchasing these.

  • Holy crap. I definitely need to get protective equipment. Thanks for this video.

  • Chainsaw chaps cost about $70.00 and are well worth it! When you take into consideration what a saw will to your leg not to mention you could bleed out in minutes if you hit a main artery! My 18 yearold son found out what wearing chaps did for him. He accidently cut into his upper leg very close to his Femoral Artery, and the saw was stopped in a second with no harm done to him. Now he has a lot more respect for chain saws. Any body that runs a chainsaw should wear a pair of chaps and other PPE.

  • how much do those cost? Were would you get those??

  • just google it, or most places that sells chainsaws. Tractor Supply, Northern Equipment, Bailey's , to name a few

  • Great vid. thanks for sharing. Just another way of saying you get what you pay for. :)

  • MY LEG!!!

  • omg! wow! i am so getting one if I ever need to use a chainsaw. I'll get a jacket and whatever else they make.
