On the morning of May 14th, 2003, a construction crane toppled across southbound interstate 5 at the 805 split, cutting several overhead power lines. This accident occurred while the junction was being expanded into a dual freeway.
Dump truck forgot to lower its cargo bed and hit the freeway sign at 75 miles an hour. A major San Diego freeway was shut down for a whole day, I was the few who drove under it right after the accident...

i worked for a driving company in that time and our boss reminded us of lowering forks and that the rollers came down and locked before driving off
