  • they tried to make it an m1 garand in zombjes

  • the M14 is the first gun that i use in zombies in black ops.

  • @AlucardKingVampire Shame it's inaccurately portrayed in Zombies mode. (8 rounds Treyarch? Really?)

  • @ChaosBahamut well, it is very usefull in the first 5 rounds.

  • the army rlly should have stayed with this rifle. instead of jumping rite into the unreliable m16 they shood have improved this rifle. fiberglass stock and new chambering for the m43 round could be a start. althogh honestly the rifle was great how it was.

  • @unknown13ful well no i agree with teh m16 because of the weight since there already wearing 100 pounds of equipment the slightest of weight makes a huge difference

  • @3:24 HOLY CRAP, you see the size of that scope?! *Insert joke here*

  • it dont matter how big the bullet is if you get hit by a bullet your going down

  • @C0UNTRYGRAMMAR uhu a 22 really?

  • yes even a 22 its a peace of metal coming at u at about 1000 feet per second it wont kill you but it will hurt like hell and yes you will be able to get up but i will knock you down

  • Comment removed

  • In Vietnam this rifle was replace with the m16 because of the politics

  • This is a much better rifle than the M1. Sorry - has to be said.

  • @CountArtha It is in terms of performance yes but performance is not the only criteria this program uses to determine what the top weapons are.

  • @1:41 I was like "dear god! he looks like a bullet!"

  • If they only made it a little lighter i feel like it would not have been replaced buy the M16... although i still like my M16

  • @RMCES4LIFE They are both good guns. The M14 is used today as a marksman rifle where the M16 is better for closer range combat. Both are good for different purposes.

  • gonna have my first m14 in 3 months :)

  • 3:26 ,look at that scope!

  • Why Its at No.10 when its a Improvement to the No.4 garand? Blame NATO for the 7.62x51mm NATO. Thirty Aught Six[30-06] is way better.

  • because it has a nato round@FireBadge66

  • @pbknox1 my dad owns a whole crap load of guns from when he was in the air force

i've fired the M14 and it's an excellent weapon

why don't you think before you speak

  • fuck that shit

i'll take an M14 into combat any day of the week

then i'd give it to my friends who would do the same

  • ther scared of every one owing it i shoot my m1a ebr from sei 800

  • what the hell this gun is supposed to be the improvement of the garand why is it the last???

  • @TunguskaProductions because those people don't know shit about firearms

  • I JIZZED MYSELF WHEN I SEEN THAT SCOPE.

  • wtf was that scope?????

  • wth was that monster of a scope?! xD

  • wicked muzzle velocity

  • innovation is very low, it's a re-calibered Garand with a box magazine. i'm not saying its a bad rifle, i'm just putting that out there

  • @maxrocks19 It's not just a M1 Garand with a box magazine. I have both rifles. The gas system and other internal components are different.

  • best gun ever made the new one is what should be the US armys primary

  • @walruspictures why is it

  • @354sd because it has a powerful 7.62 cartridge its very accurate and quite reliable its somewhat light but most pros make up for it

  • @walruspictures thank you

  • best gun ever made

  • I love it how at 3:00 the guy tries to grab the rifle but gets declined hahaha.

  • 3 bad primers in a row? come on are you retarded

  • Ok, wtf. 503 yards effective range for the m14, 656 for the FAL. So you're telling me that a shorter-barreled rifle with a lower muzzle velocity (by about 99 fps) is more than 150 yards more accurate? Bullshit.

  • My dad used the M14 in Nam. Extremely accurate!

  • Reason the FN FAL is higher is because it is still used today. We didnt stop using it until the mid 1980's aka the L1A1 SLR.

  • 1:39 The shape of his head.............

  • @ALSPEHEIR LOL!!!!!

  • @ALSPEHEIR

he's always in these gun documentaries

  • @kolinmartz Yep, they appears as recommended vids to me. This, eletronic music, some politic things and how to draw. Crazy shit bro.

  • Bring back the M14, hell the Coast Guard, and Special Forces already have.

  • @GunsOfThePhoenix M-25 is an M-14

  • i miss my M14, without my M14, i am nothing; without me, my M14 may be nothing.

when i was in army, the commander only asked us to shoot accurately and for those who can fire 1 round on the target by one single shot from 300m away, who can have a day off.

i was the a few who can have that kind of award on my company all the time; by my M14. :)

  • why is the m14 at number 10 if the FAL is so good why is it not used today like the m14? and this was probably made by someone who plays way to much cod

  • @TrickMasterT1500

FAL was a better battle rifle, m14 failed in that regard.

That the m14 with a bunch of improvements is in the works now in a role that it wasn't designed for doesn't make it a better rifle.

  • Thumbs up if the 2cd guy 1:38 looks like an egg...

  • The only reason it rated ten was due to it's just battlefield service length, the Navy however still utilizes this wonderful weapon today, I wouldn't trade it for anything

  • i though m14 was the m1 garand lol

  • has anyone ever met a Vietnam vet that complained about the "weight" of the M-14 and it's ammo? I know chingo's of them and they all laugh when I used to ask them that.

  • Damn, why didn't I search for Military Channel on Youtube sooner....I guess I'll have plenty of entertainment for the next few days.

  • it sounds like an m1 garand thats pinging out the clip :/

  • I call bullshit on that 503 yds range! An M-14 could easily nail something 800+ meters away, so why the hell do they keep shortchanging this thing!?!

  • @FireBadger66

Did you listen to the review? They said in the right hands it was useful in the right hands past 800 yards.

  • @FireBadger66 they gotta shortchange it to pump up justifying spending a ton of money on a new rifle (M-110). I was a D.M. for 3 years and the 14 is a wonderful rifle.

  • @FireBadger66 1:34 says 800 yards

  • @ajonz9213 thats the very fartherest than a very proficient marksmen could shoot it with out an optical sight, at that range you barely see target in your iron sights, and you have to make so many sighting adjustments that it makes shooting at that range impractical, so yes 500 meters is about the max effective range.

  • @FireBadger66 the video did say that the m14 could hit something from 800 yards away. 1:32

  • @FireBadger66 the range they listed is the "effective range" fired by using iron sights. not scoped.

  • @FireBadger66 the video says it is accurate up to 800 yards putz.....

  • @FireBadger66 Maybe with a match-grade trigger and optics, but this is a regular government-issue rifle they're talking about.

  • yeah f**ck Obama and his harsher gun laws weeehw go nascar!

  • ya fuck Obama and his harsher gun laws weeeehw go nascar!

  • ya fuck obama hitler

  • @vans98skate Oh my God, another person who hates Obama! *Drops down on knees* *Stars crying* Our breed is so rare in these parts, I'm just thrilled that I could meet another of my kind. THANK YOU!

  • @FrozenKoolAidDude make that another

  • @crazyredneck42069 I assume you mean another joke?

  • @FrozenKoolAidDude i hate obama i meant osama my bad

  • @iceberg931 I think they both can just go and jump straight into a pit of shit. RIP (Rest in Piss) Bin Laden.

  • @FrozenKoolAidDude lol nice one

  • @iceberg931 Thanks.

  • @FrozenKoolAidDude ur welcome

  • nice rifle, very nice...

  • service length determines if your rifle is better or not?! thats bullshit... this ranks 10 and the enfeild ranks 3 or some shit?! wtf is that?!?! iam sorry i dont give a fuck how you put it but a reliable semi auto .308 rifle with a 20 round magazine with full auto capability will allways be better than a damn enfeild!

  • at 3:23 thats a gay looking scope

  • @Ben85paintball Actually the M14 is a .308, not a .30-06. The metric designation of .30-06 is 7.62x63mm, if I remember right.

  • shoot to kill

  • i want one of these and an BAR sooooo badly. lots of great weapons in the US military arsenal, but this is one of my most favorite.

  • This tv show is all bullshit. No small arm cartridge can penetrate sand bags, and certainly doesn't "blow doors off hinges"

  • AG3 is better..

  • who you calling pin head 1:42

  • @MrNaruto5310 xDDDDD yes it´s pin head larry ^^

  • if you take away the clip, you have m1 garand :D

  • I don't want no teenage queen.

    I just want my M-14.

If I die in the combat zone.

Box me up and ship me home.

Pin my medals upon my chest.

Tell my mom I've done my best.

  • My God, the M14 was a terrible battle rifle people...... Its very accurate sure, that's why we still use some as marksman rifles, but its not ergonomic to suit the modern battlefield at all. I cannot be one of the only ones here who thinks the FAL is a far superior battle rifle to the M14 can I? I mean if the US hadn't stuck its nose up at the rest of the world, we'd be using the FAL right now.

  • @Moosecm86 You do know that when the Israelis had the FAL as their rifle they had a lot of problems with reliability right? And that we give Israel several M14s which were much more reliable than the FAL.

  • They really under rated the M14

  • top tens realy underestimated the power of the m14. over estimated the power of the m16.

everyone i know including me knows that the m14 is better than the FAL. beutiful and kicks less and its american.

  • @4everUSNavy Um excuse me? The M14 was adopted by ONE country and only had a standard service life of about 11 years, if that. It was replaced super quick with an intermediate round due to its tremendous and uncontrollable recoil in Full Auto. Infact, had politics at the time not played a role, the United States would have adopted the FAL, which has seen a service life in all corners of the globe as a standard battle weapon for over 56 years in more than 90 countries.

  • @4everUSNavy Plus lets face it, there's a lot of things made in the US that suck.......

  • @Moosecm86 Yes i agree but Navy Seal sniper teams will agree that the m14 was not one of them.

  • @4everUSNavy I really hate it when people say that the FN FAL and M16 is better than the M14.

Here are my opinions. M16 jammed during the Vietnam war but the M14 didn't. M14 is a little more accurate than the FAL. People believe these things because of games, movies, videos, and tv shows they watch

  • number ten wtf, my m14 kicks my fn fals ass in just about everything i do. it always works, it is twice as accurate, weighs less, and has a better magwell, bolt lock, mag release, trigger, and you can not put it together wrong.

  • @musicroks1597530 i agree on every thing except the weight iv fired one and the recoil is massive but controllable as long as you know what your doing

  • @musicroks1597530 However the M14 is more costly to make then the FAL. The quality of firearms is not just judged by how it works but also by how quickly and cheaply it can be made with as little defects as possible. I agree the M14 is a much better weapon but certain charectoristics can make the difference.

  • @musicroks1597530 The M14 is a pound heavier than the FAL, and is far more expensive to produce. Also, its handling qualities aren't the best for closer range work. Still, the M14 is a hell of a rifle, if heavier than I'd like to carry on a march.

  • @musicroks1597530 these top ten shows are mostly bullshit, im sorry but m14 doesnt deserve to be last

  • @musicroks1597530 Check your numbers. The original FAL weighed about 9.5 lbs. An M14 weighs 11.5 lbs to start... -.-

  • @musicroks1597530 is the M14 better than the FN FAL in any way

  • @musicroks1597530 shut you play call of duty you dont know anything bout guns m14 isnt the best rifle but its good if its a rapid fire weapon and semi auto if you wanna learn names of guns play battlefield

  • @musicroks1597530 a lot of these rankings are bullshit. I'm pretty sure they take into account other things like contemporary application, and not just weapon functionality. For example, the Garand gets #4 when the m-14 is essentially just a better Garand, BUT they just give the Garand such a high rating cause of its track record in dominating ass all over the world. I totally agree with u tho

  • @musicroks1597530 If numbers mean anything, The M14 was the only country really to adopt it as an infantry rifle where almost of all the western countries adopted the FAL.

  • number 10. seriously? how bout.. number 2? right behind the m1 garand.. jeez people

  • the best rifel ever made for all around shooting. out to over 1000yards and still have the power to knock the fight out of anyone..try it with a .223.....5 mph wind blows it way off course

  • @moecat1000 I'd rather have an FN FAL

  • I have a question why arent we using this rifle now? i get that its heavy so why not just make it out of the same material as the M16 I think it would be better now because we have Officially pulled out of Iraq so we wouldnt have to make a new gun in the middle of war

  • @FpsGamer43 We are using this gun now in specialized roles. Do some research.

  • @OneCreativeOrigin

I knew that but how come its not the main rifle like the M16/M4 is today

  • @FpsGamer43 its because its too expensive, theM21 was supposed to repace it, but now its back as the M14EBR for tactical uses

  • @FpsGamer43 The pot head hippy draftees complained about the recoil and weight of the m14. Making it lighter would increase the recoil tremendously and you still can't make the ammo lighter. I guess you could put a muzzle break on it but that would just make it loud as hell.

  • @FpsGamer43 Look up the Socom 16 and Socom 2

  • And again, the Military Channel proves that it is more about saying "America is great" than actually giving information. Something about Army Ordnance having to sabotage competing rifles (including the vastly superior FN FAL), having to lie about the producibility, blatantly ignoring battlefield statistics, and refusing to dig their heads of World War II to make the US adopt a rifle that was obsolete when it was adopted. There's a reason why the M14 was switched out so fast.

  • @vogonford yeah macnamara was getting kick backs

  • @vogonford Having fired every promanant rifle made since before 1900, I would say the all 7.62 NATO rifles are about equal in semi-auto. The FN-FAL in auto was like trying to hold onto a greased pig, the M14 would get one maybe two hits on a man sized target at 100 yards. The HK G3A3 was a freaking dream. Other great shooting battle rifles M1 and M1941 Johnson. The Johnson, both semi and auto (LMG), were more then a match for the M1, BAR pairing.

  • @carlostrick the 5.56 is lighter, therefore having much less momentum than the 7.62 even though it has more muzzle velocity. Also the 7.62 has more powder in the cartrige transfering for momentum to the bullet

  • I have all 3,Springfield armory m1a,ar15 and ak 47,love all 3,but the m1a/m14 is my favorite, beats the hell out of the others, unless you have to carry that big mother all day.But if my life had to depend on my rifle,I wouldnt mind having to carry it.

  • same power as ak47. better accuracy. shoots faster. so which is better? Still the ak cuz it looks better :D

  • @jarostone , not the same power as the AK47. Completely different round. M14 = 7.62 x 51mm NATO, AK47 = 7.62 x 39mm. The 7.62 x 51 is more "powerful" and has better range and penetration, but the 7.62 x 39 (like the 5.56 x 45 that the AR family uses) tumbles, causing more trauma and damage to a human body.

  • @jarostone

    What are you talking about?

The AK has less power than this.

    AK-47 = 7.62x39

    M14 = 7.62x51

  • 1 Shot 1 fucking shot is all it takes from this thing

  • it's a good rifle, it's just that when it's automatic, it tends to rise and lose accuracy

  • m14 is beast so shut up its not a peice of shit

  • hahaha 3:27 its so big

  • Does this guy know that the M1 and the BAR fire the same cartridge? As a matter of fact, the only differing cartridges were the .45 ACP and .30 Carbine.

  • @LouieIn720p I don't know where you get your info from but here's the facts (check them and learn some). A Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) shoots a .30-06 (.30 caliber 1906) round. The M1 Garand shoots either .30-06 or the "Smaller" in length .308 depending on whether you get a Springfield military or civilian version. The M-14 is a .308 which is a shorter version of the .30-06 and has subsequently less range and knockdown. .30-06 has an effective range of 750 yards, the .308 doesn't.

  • @MasterWitchDoctor Yes I know ALL of that. I'm talking about during WWII. Why you had to come off as an ass is beyond me. Dumbasses these days...

  • @LouieIn720p I love these guys who claim to be "SMART" but their posts indicate otherwise then call people like myself who own these rifles as dumb asses (spell check, try it sometime). Please think twice before speaking once because it only belittles you when you post retarded statements. Here's another statement for you. IGNORE!!!

  • @MasterWitchDoctor I love how arrogant keyboard warriors try to make honest people look stupid just to prove a point. The point is, you're arguing about the wrong time period. I was making a statement in reference to the Historian's claim that would make the average person believe that the BAR and the M1 used a different cartidge. I still don't get how my point isn't valid. And I also own a vintage M1 from the Pacific and a Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM II. I don't claim to be smart. Suck it.

  • Gomer Pyle uses it

  • the last awesome gun the US produced.

    Sadly.

  • @nero91 what about the AA-12? The M-14 EBR? The Vector/Kriss? The Scar-h and it's brother? and btw i didn't find out about these guns through MW2 like some of the lil kids have. i've known about em from watching future weapons which ended before MW2 came out!

  • @BINOMAN007

    8/10 would rage again.

  • @BINOMAN007 me too. but i learned about the scar in socom and most other weapons from futureweapons

  • Put this rifle in the hands of someone who can shoot and you dont get much more accurate. I own a springfield M1A and you dont have to try hard to hit a target dead on

  • Behold - the last good main rifle the U.S. ever made.

  • @DSFARGEG00 wuts wrong with the AR

  • @rudybeatskcazm7 It's remarkably unreliable.

  • @TheMarikBathory tell me have you ever shot one or have had an experience with one

  • @rudybeatskcazm7 My neighbor is a gun collector and has over 200 rifles, many are AR platform "black rifles" and I've had the opportunity to fire many of them. I do really like them but 100-200 rounds later, regardless of ammo used, the gas impingement block is fouled and a stoppage is inevitable. notable exception is the Sig Sauer 556 which is gas piston driven. When it came time to buy my own rifle I went with a AK-47 for is amazing reliability in all conditions.

  • @TheMarikBathory Ok well my bushmaster has gone through around 1500 rounds and has been reliable every shot

  • @rudybeatskcazm7 I'm not saying they're bed rifles, just that they are very high maintenance rifles, and they're very finicky. and those are two things that I do not want in a piece of equipment I might have to trust my life to. That and .223 is a joke.

I like them. I just wouldn't own one.

  • They lost me at "stopping power" or "knock him down". Yes the .30 caliber cardridge has better terminal performance than 5.56 through barriers, but it won't "knock them down if you shoot at him". You still have to hit the damn targets.

  • @RaderizDorret i agree just one thing its a .308 now the m1a1 was a .30

  • @CoinZaphod187 Wrong. The NATO designation of .308 is 7.62x51mm. The .30 Carbine round used in the M1A1 Carbine is 7.62x33mm. Both use .308 caliber bullets. The primary differences between the two are bullet weight, case capacity, case type, and velocity.

  • I know someone with an M14 and I've fired it. Highly enjoyable to shoot and easy to operate.

  • I would like to meet the Human that has met a rifle's potential in the field.

  • @XxxSakura101 It's all a judgement call on the part of the show's producers. Kind of like video games. One thing they leave out when they mention the M14 being used as a sniper rifle is that those particular rifles aren't your typical off-the-rack M14s. A typical M14 is a "minute of man" rifle. Not a minute of angle rifle. It can be made to be MOA accurate, but it takes a LOT of work to get it there, and even more work to keep it there.

  • I dislike the computer animation as well. I have an m4 , m1a ,m-1 ak-47 and a fal! they all have there place.

For cqb I'll take an M4 light short controlable and a high rate of fire.

For mid to long range M1A then the fal ,the mia fits me a lot better and i can hit with it .

the AK47 is my truck gun cheap works great fairly accurate if something happens to it im only out a few hundred buck!!!

the M-1 is so cool 30-06 does what a 308 does but at 100 yards further out.

    MAKE MINE AN M14

  • 2:28 lol fast

  • I hated shooting the ak-47, it is very difficult to aim because it doesn't have a peep sight like the M-16 dose.

  • @XxxSakura101 It takes practice.

  • I hate that computer graficing typing efect...

And com. voice is same anoying.

  • @LegionOfAgony 100% agreed it spoils the whole thing

  • Good sniper rifle. M-16 has too much travel.

  • I don't see why they're showing how good the gun was in Vietnam when the AK-47 could do all that and more

  • @teutonic94 my uncle served in vietnam for 3 tours. he used an m-14 and a 12-gauge browning auto. not once did he ever have to use an ak-47.

  • @teutonic94 haha that 7.62 x .39 round is baby shit compared to the massive .308

also Ak is not nearly as accurate as the m14, only thing it beats the m14 on is reliability and the fact that the AK uses stamped parts in comparison to molded parts therefore faster, cheaper production.

  • @tostedcheeseman oops meant 7.62 x .51 not .308 my bad

  • @tostedcheeseman the m14 is a very reliable weopon

  • @GodSmackRulzall i know it is... i got an AK and a m14. my m14's jams a lil more often than the AK

  • @tostedcheeseman i have an m14 (m1a1) and iv never had it jam

  • @GodSmackRulzall yea i think my bolts not seated right, so i guess the comparison's a lil fucked up

  • @tostedcheeseman oh i gotcha

  • @tostedcheeseman I suppose it groups tighter on paper, but the AK has decent accuracy.

  • @esh325 o i no, the ak is way more accurate than ppl give it credit for

  • @tostedcheeseman

The AK is an accurate weapon, but compared to other rifles like the AR-15, and other 5.56x45mm weapons, it's a piece of shit

  • @Cowbelltheoneandonly im sorry can those weapons completely kill u in lke 2 shots.. maybe but probably not, the m14 can

  • @Roweanos212

If you were shot in the chest with any weapon, regardless of caliber, chances are you are going to die. Chances are even highest if you're shot with tumbling round like 5.45x39 or 5.56x45

  • @Cowbelltheoneandonly thats y the soldiers were complaining about the stopping power right? isnt that why they are making new weapons for the soldiers that are higher caliber right?

  • @Roweanos212

What are you smoking? The only branch in the US Military using a battle rifle is US SOCOM, which uses the SCAR Heavy in 7.62x51....

Get used it it...5.56x45mm is the standard assault rifle caliber

  • @Cowbelltheoneandonly which weapon got alot of people killed in nam cuz of weapon jammng? m16! and im not hating on the m16 but the m14 imo is better than it, and SOCOM also uses the m14
