I remember the only reason I started watching the series was because in the promos I saw my beloved former pink Power Ranger (Amy Jo Johnson) who I obsessively admired and wanted to be just like. But then I actually got obsessed with the show, it was so smart, it showed college students in the process of turning into adults and making adult decisions. it wasn't like the superficial oversexed crap we have now where kids think college is all about sex and parties.

At the end of season 2 it was revealed that Julie's birth father needed a kidney transplant and she was too bitter and upset about her birth parents giving her up for adoption that she didn't go through with the transplant. And between seasons 2 and 3 he died. She couldn't deal with the guilt so she left to "figure things out".

In real life, Amy Jo Johnson's mother had passed away during season 2 and Amy left the show because she says needed time off from the hectic schedules to grieve.

I hated it when Julie left. :( She was one of my favorite characters and it felt different after she was gone. But I always wanted to see that plot develop between Julie and her birth father, played by Bradley Whitford. But I think it was cuz Brad got casted as Josh Lyman on "The West Wing" that he couldn't come back for season 2. It's a shame that it happened off screen and we never got to see Julie and her dad bond.

There's a bit of a longer version (not that much longer) on the first soundtrack. It's performed by Amy Jo Johnson (who played Julie on the show and was the pink Power Ranger, previously). It's simply called "Felicity Theme"
