i looked on wikipedia, and accrington stanley were at that point (because of unaccuraties about the year that this commercial came out) somewhere between the cheshire county league division 2 and the northern premier league

the current one was founded in 1977, and have been climbing up the non-league ranks until winning promotion to league 2 in 2006, replacing Oxford United, ironically the club elected to the football league to replace Accrington Stanley in 1961
