I remember that ITV was suffering from a strike round about '79 so a lot of videos were played back to back. This was one of them. Love this version, bought the album put together by Adam Faith featuring a legendary assembly of session musicians. Muleskinner Blues and the Skiffle Sessions with Van the man are great too! Must buy the follow up to this album as well which was recorded in America

Lonnie Donegan is regarded as the ultimate practitioner of skiffle music in the UK. It is a mixture of jazz and country blues.
That he also has charm and humor, we know.
Playing skiffle music is quite simple: All you need is a guitar or banjo, and the rhythm section, a washboard. : ))

I have been looking for this version for YEARS! This recording was the first thing I ever heard by Lonnie and made me a fan. I love the way this album from '78 updates all of Donegan's classic hits into a more mordern rock sound. He truly is the godfather of British Rock N Roll!
