@honeykrisp The old widow misses her late husband, so as a means of coping with her sorrow, she is burdening herself to establish that connection like the one she had when he was still alive, in this case, the television set that works when she stores another item in her "memory drawer however, her "husband" is sad that she's burdening herself, so he "redeems" her of her sorrow, and the end result is somewhat to say.. never fear, for even though he has passed, they will be together in the end.
@DanceDanceCrazy555 the music is `meditation` from the opera Thaïs & is composed by Louis Gallet. its used frequently in all sorts of tv shows and movies, which is why it sounds very familiar to you. cheers!
This is very hard for me to understand what its about..So can you guys tell me whats going on,and please thumb up so that ppls can see it and can explain to me
@cacalai0703 It's an old woman whose husband has just died and, being unable to let go, holds on two all of this crap for the memories. The old man sees how she weighs herself down so he makes her fall and let it go and then the go to heaven together.
I think it is saying that you can't hold onto everything from the past forever, and that you have to learn how to let go, because if you don't then you will never truly be happy.
@ShadowDragoon09 No, it's chinese. 回忆抽屉 means 'chest of memories'. The symbols I've typed are different because they're the symbols used today, the simplified ones. The ones in the videos are the old ones, still used by Taiwan.

Not many animations can pull on my heartstrings this much... I was really crying at the end. I can relate incredibly well to the feeling of wanting to hold on to as many memories as you can, but it pulls down on you so much. You really captured the emotions and feelings of loss, and the grieving process, and how its better to let some things go in order to move on. 5/5 stars no doubt. It was beautiful.
@4chanisfunny i think the sound quality was done that way on purpose. it gives the video a very vintage sound and atmosphere like an old record player.
i'm normally pretty sharp at understanding most of ANIBOOM's "open to interpretation" videos... but i would appreciate it if someone could help guide me through this one... all that i understand is that she lost her husband a while ago and in the end is able to be with him after all...
Somehow, we're just like the old lady. We keep our memories in our chests and the more you keep, the heavier you'll get. So, it's good to let things go and give the chest space to store other things. :) Thank you for sharing :)
It was really quite nice, very symbolic and sweet. But I felt the camera movements were kind of haphazard or sloppy. I understood the choice of angles and appreciated them, but the camera shaking took the viewer's attention away from the lovely character design and beautiful shaders and to the camera's movements instead.
Our lives are but the sum of our memories, both those we ourselves hold, soon lost to death, and those held by others, soon lost to forgetfullness. After all, even words and pictures are of no meaning out of their context. And no matter how hard we try and hold onto our memories, are they as sweet as they day they were made? Treasure your memories, but share them, let them go and do not weep, for you, too, will soon enough be a sweet memory.
wow! very symbolic! I like that you choose different forms of expression - that more grafic/drawing style on the computerscreen which shows the memories. Must have taken ages to do this..... thanks!
@elchininoloco Lol I dont think it was a concept to be easily understood but to make us have our own interpretations of it. I believe she died at the end though... And that the overloaded box was the anguish of memories like that .__. Idk..
The incorporation of 2D and 3D is absolutely excellent. Wonderful rendering in the 3D parts, and I love the simplicity in the drawings.. The story is also very touching and you used appropriate music..
