still works like new : olympics in hd is great. and free . lots of channels lik 44 - 1-2-3-4 and channel 10-2 ( also 12-4 )= 64 try it.

the converter box works great after 6 months of use. every day. the power went out once or 2 times. just unplug it and plug it back in again if the power goes out. you get lots more channels than we use to . most channels have 2 or 3 channels extra. and PBS ch 44 has 3 channels. also if you live in ri - channel 12 - 4 is channel 64 as channel 64 try it out.

set aspect ratio to "cropped". i know some channels don't allow aspect ratio to be changed, but those that do allow i still have to zoom manually, like i have to force it. doesn't seem to work when set in menu. don't know if it's normal or bad firmware.

got mine from best buy. manufacturing date june 2008. they first gave me december 2007, but i refused and demanded to see the rest of the boxes. asked to see remote. was told it doesnt come with one. i didn't laugh.

hey did u unplug the energy of converter box at night after u stop watching tv??

or just leave it on Red light=stand by?

..some channel look not big as tv screen if u want to make it standard look at remote control and find ZOOM then click it several time until it fit the tv screen.

you can put a sticker of the light.

I put a sticker over my dvd light.

there are letterbox,cropped, orsqueezed.

zoom = will change that.

some channels will not let you change the aspect ratio.

box works best with a amplifier. I have a radio shack indoor amp.

listen everyone cable boxes are getting your signal the same as direct TV on the channel it says dtv 3.1 or what ever the channel is when it is cloudy your box wont get the signal they are forcing everyone to go to cable or direct tv we are being ruled by a socialist society

mine cant pick up many channels. i only get 3 channels. And my antenna have amplifier. Someone told me if i live higher that i would get more channels and to put the antenna really high. We cant have a roof antenna cause we rent our house. sucks but thats how it gonna be after next year

I have a antanna on my roof and also a amplifier made by radio shack. I have noticed on rainy days some channels in RI like 36 pbs ? maby they will fix these problems before jan 2009.
