  • People say I have a Canadian accent, i live in Michigan (Detroit Area) which is pretty close to Southern Ontario so i guess i could have a slight accent lol who knows!

  • Canadian English is accent neutral for the most part, except people do pronounce about as "aboat", process as "prohcess", and sorry as "sohry". A lot emphasis is put on the O. And people do occasionally say "eh".

  • Sounds american, except your "o"s are slightly longer.

    (I'm Canadian too)

  • Your a back tracking bitch. Your worse than my old lady. Call me what you want, i'm laughing, why? Because your just a little wankster calling me hoe when in reality i'd make you mine. Ill tell you this once. Im in Brantford, Ontario.......Come make me hoe ;)

  • Im from Saskatchewan EH!

  • Nope,you don`t sound canadian! :)

  • uhh... no...

  • you're pretty

  • You seem to be crying. You got told the facts, I don't blame you. Also I'm no coward. Cowards back down (which i'm not) If you were in the same town as me i'd say this to your fucking face and anyone elses. But don't call me inbred just cause your dad is also your uncle. BTW your still a moron for thinking "canadian" is an accent. Dumb fuck

  • @Papasmurffable I Never said Canadian is an accent actually. You, being the fucking retard you are, assumed I said it was. I said "everyone has an accent." That's it. Stop putting words in my mouth you worthless piece of shit. You're a waste of a life. You can't even fucking read a simple sentence and correctly comprehend what is being written without menstruating like a bitch.

You embarrass Canada. GTFO my country hoe.

  • i dont think you have an accent but then again im also from southern canada :P

  • If you hear an accent on a Canadian? They dont have an accent. You were just raised by uneducated people. No "aboots" and "Eh" is universal. Just spelled "Aye" "hey" But you hear it in all cultures. THERES NO SUCH THING AS A CANADIAN ACCENT! He are the most culturally diverse country in the world. How can we have an accent? RETARDS

  • @Papasmurffable everyone has an accent you fool.

  • @youngice6004 suck a fat dick! "Canadian" isn't an accent. T.V. has rotted your puny little mind. There are hundreds of accents within Canada (french, scottish, irish, indian and many others) But dont think for a second that we have a single Canadian accent. But since you seem to think that? Your a fool, you waste of nut bust. lol

  • @Papasmurffable Cry some more you sensitive little coward. Every single person has an accent. The only reason you don't think someone has one is because they have the same one as you. There is no such thing as no accent.

If you weren't an inbred bitch you would know this.

  • Either way, the "English" Language is meant to be clearly understood and stated. If you plan to teach English like I am. Then you would realise that Canadians have it the most down pat. When speaking it of course. We are educated about the world around us, we know exactly how different we are from the world and vice versa, But I honestly feel sad for peoples stupidity in thinking we have an accent.

  • You are dumb. French Canadian is not an accent. It is just a french person who cant fluently speak english yet moron. You get that in France too! And I take it you havnt been around the world have you? There are alot of people across this world that feel Canadians are easiest to understand when were speaking to them. You just watch too much south park, and you are actually stupid enough to think that "Canadian" has its own accent.

  • Fellow Canadians!!! DONT make us look as stupid as Americans!! We DO NOT have an accent!! There is NO such thing as a Canadian accent. If you think you have a french canadian accent? YOU ARE STUPID. Its just a french accent. I find it funny that just because we speak clear, proper and fluent English words. That means we have an accent? lol No, its just that no other Nations on Earth speak clear, proper and fluent English. All we do is speak proper.

  • @Papasmurffable You're an idiot. Every speaking human on earth has an accent. An accent is simply a way of pronouncing words. And if you think French accents and French Canadian accents are the same thing, you've never heard either one. They're very different. Also, if anyone speaks "proper" English, that'd be the English. :P We speak Canadian English.

  • @kelsinator14986 BTW only a moron would think the English were the only who speaks proper English just because theyre in England? AHA go over there sometime and say that again lol

  • @Papasmurffable When you talk about proper english referring to England proper doesnt mean correct. Its just a label like Canadian English or Old English

  • im from alberta i dont hear an accent rly

  • not at all. xd

  • I moved from Alberta to BC, and it was really interesting how many people said I had an accent.

It's hilarious how the stereotypical "Canadian" accent is actually just the eastern Canada accent... Regardless, proud to be Canadian!

  • minotchristine is quebecois of quebec , canada

    its my cousin .

  • ethnically ambiguous canadians stand up!

  • you have an ontario accent.... you sound slightly different than we do in alberta... not significant though.

  • mmmm. the part when you said "right away" it sounded very Canadian, because you said it more like "Right aweh"

I'm from Central alberta and there is an accent in these parts if you've got the ear for it.

  • Face it throughout Canada we have slang for our accents, some are lazy, some are more proper... but who's to judge. All in all when people come from overseas we all sound one thing: CANADIAN.

  • you look like an indian not canadian

  • I'm from Canada as well.

You said "Kay-nuh-duh" I say "Kah-nuh-duh" you say kay.. i say kah

  • I live in Wisconsin and my relatives who live out east say I have a Canadian accent. I don't think I do however. I don't think you do either, But you do have a beautiful voice :)

  • ur a cutie

  • Well, I would know, but thats just cause I have an ear for accents, unlike those ppl who think that americans and Canadians sound the same, and the scottish and english are the same, and then those idiots that think the english and the welsh sound the same I'm like 'How the heck can you possibly think those are the same!'

  • lol I'm also a souther ontario'er and you don't have an accent to me ;) ahaha

  • @minotchristine that's a sign of personality,she has more personality than you

  • @geiuy ahaha yeah I guess so ;)

  • you're very pretty.

  • /watch?v=gWBFh2JHOcw&feature=c hannel_video_title If you really want to see if the American an Canadian accents are distinguishable from each other, I'm doing an experiment. You have to guess which one I am from.

  • EVERYBODY has an accent little girl.

  • Best and most real way to get a true answer to your accent iinquiry is to go abroad.

  • canadian def

  • get oat, eh

  • eh

  • Jimmy Carr (British comedian) says he doesn't have an accent - "this is just how English sounds when it's spoken properly".

    Ha!

I grew up in London Ontario. When I went to school in Windsor Ontario (near Detroit), the Canadians THERE thought I had an accent! Little differences.

I'm now in Vancouver. When I visited Seattle, I didn't hear much of a difference.

Wow, this video is pretty old...I wonder if she even checks the responses anymore...

  • @HeLovesCulture Well from what i hear in school. Is that British and Americans just think we have accents which we prolly do, dont get me wrong i wasnt really thinking when i put that last comment down, we do i believe have an accent though thank u for ur positive feedback!

  • I'm from Seattle and you sound the exact same as me..

  • Im American and I can tell that you are Canadian. It's hard to describe Canadian accents because it's so subtle and it's not just about that accent that gives you away. It's also in the manner that you speak. Canadians speak differently from Americans but not a lot of people such as Americans would even notice it. I have an ear for accents so I notice it right away but the truth is everyone have an accent. The US is known for many many accents

  • lets see a tit.

  • there is no such thing as a Canadian accent

  • @TheBoom1234567890

    Everyone has an accent.

  • Wow that's a lot of large pixels! Oh wait... it's supposed to be a video LOL

  • No, you don't. Canadians don't have accents. We sound normal!

  • @2123bella32122 She's fucking insecure! I hope she sees this comment. Americans who come here admit we speak better English than they do.

  • @TheBigDead0ne i know. I'm encouraging her. 'No, you don't have an accent, don't worry we don't. We sound normal'. Thats what I meant.

  • You can't hear your own accent but everyone does have one! Different regions within a same country have different accents.

  • Im Canadian, no we dont have an accent, but British, and Americans think we do. :/

  • i live in ottawa, and yea i dont think we have accents. we have accents according to british people, but we talk exactly like americans! so when americans make fun of us (for example : EH?) it doesnt make sense cause im positive that americans say EH too.

  • im canadain & i dont think you have an accent ;p

but im from nova scotia canada & a british girl from my school

told me that we sounded like we were from texas :S

  • You sound american...

  • i'm canadian....

i personally dont think you have an accent

  • yes, having lived in southern ontario as an american I would say yes i would be able to tell.

  • You sound like you could have came from the U.S. well at least the northern midwestern part of it except maybe for a few words you could be easily mistaken for an American

  • what the point of this................

  • Yes.

  • Everyone has an accent of some sort. The different ways of doing different accents within a country is called a 'dialect.' Off the top I would say, yes, you are Canadian, but you don't really speak in a way that would nail you down as being from the east or west. Canadians tend to 'up-speak' a lot, so our sentences often sound like we are apologizing, and that's why I think you sound Canadian, rather than it being any specific word that you are saying differently. I'm from Vancouver :)

  • @ 0:21 I could've sworn you said "Accent" with perhaps a Guyanese accent :-)

  • You're fuckin hot. Who the fuck cares what you sound like.

  • no , you doesn't sound like a canadia, you sound like a internatinal english

  • im canadian and if we do have an accent other canadians wont hear it cuz they have it too.. its the same with a british accent if you have had it all your life and everyone around u has it too then u dont notice it...

  • u sound like ur faking an accent

  • no, you don't

  • I'm Canadian and we do not sound like that.

  • @lawandordersvurocks2 She says she's from southern Ontario. So am I. I've lived here since birth (29 years) and can honestly say that she sounds "southern Ontarian."

  • @lawandordersvurocks2 What part of Canada?? Varies....

  • yes u def have a canadian accent.. well i do too.. but i can tell u r XD

  • oh god..do we really sound like this?

  • well i just moved out here from florida....had i never moved i'd think you have an accent but wouldn't know from where, but now that i'm surrounded by canadians yes to me you most deff do have one, but its all good bc literally every day i get told that i have one and i didnt even know i did.

  • i'm from chicago and i don't hear an accent

  • @couzies i do

  • I dont know what your all talking aboot? :D Yeah, you do sound Canadian, Its not like the accents of the northern provinces how they have really rich, woody, husky, 'Gee eh' accents. My guess is Albertan (Sorry if i offend, Im aussie, my knowledge of province sibling rivaly is a little limited :p)

  • Yup, you tend to have an upward inflection at the end of your sentences. Almost like a question. Very Canadian trait, I do it too :)

  • I'm not a good judge because I'm Canadian so I'm used to it xP

  • every canadian ive ever known had an accent on the long "O" sound..... and you do too. yes you are canadian

  • id say yh u are x

  • yes, its normal english but its canadian because it accelerates at times

  • You dont sound canadian to me.

  • You sound normal to me... although I'm from southern Ontario too.

  • Im from michigan-detroit area. You sound similar to our accent but a few words sounded canadian.

  • Nope , I would of thought you were a straight up yank.

  • @nikkiab86 what is yank?

en tout cas c'est mieux de ne pas être un commentaire méchant.

  • "Canadian Vowel Raising"

  • nooo...I would have never guessed you are Canadian. Most of the times I can't tell if someone is Canadian until the dead giveaways ...the "outs" and "abouts" You do say "ummm" alot...just like Americans lol

  • @daflyers79 don't make up shit about out and about

  • I think you sound a little strange, and I live near the border between Saskatchewan and alberta, but otherwise it's fairly normal for what I hear on a regular basis. Just a little off, of course it varies a bit from person to person, and the quality of the video might cause this to be what I am picking up.

  • u sound like ppl from my school i live in connecticut o.0 u sound american to me i guess o.o and in quebec do alot of ppl speak english?

  • lol ARE you canadian?!?!?!? lol just kidding but people say i have an all american accent. I sound like i had a country accent but grew out of it. turns out that i did but so does everybody else here in georgia!

  • Its an American accent...not Canadian (obviously)

  • You realize what an accent is, right? It's the way you speak, and the way that sounds normal to you. You have a Canadian accent because you don't sound like a US Southerner, or like a Brit, or an Irish.

  • you say "sayink" i heard that from a girl living in canada before

  • no accent canadians that do have an accent have louder or maybe a lower voice ur voice is waay to high to identify the accent

  • I'm an American linguistics student and, as everyone does, you have an accent. I wounldn't necessarily immediately identify you as Canadian, but you do sound at least a little Minnesotan or northern midwestern to me. I would probably be able to figure out you were Canadian talking to you, though. Most Americans like the Canadian accent. It isn't very heavy or noticeable but it's pleasant.

  • The southern Ontario accent sounds like a cross between the Californian and Northwest Pacific accent (Washington and Oregon). It does NOT sound like the awful imitation given by the venerable Amy Walker.

  • My English friend thinks you sound pretty similar to an average American. But as a Canadian, you sound Ontarian :)

  • To be honest if you hadn't said the word "out" I would've thought you were from

California. However your 'out' is not as pronounced as some other canadians Your O's are also fronted compared to someone from Alberta, giving for a more CA feel. Also the unrounding of your back vowels sounds more like the Western US than "usual" Canadian(you pronounce both cot (ah) and caught (aw) words with ah' rather than the vowel that is between ah and aw that is common in the praires and eastern canada.)

  • Not really although i did here "ahk-cent" sounded a little english at that time :)

  • you speak straight english. no special twang or dialect really :)

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Thats an indian accent.

  • the things that I would do to you..

  • say the word "about" to an american and they will tell you if they perceive an accent or not.

  • get naked

  • @exec9292 LOLLLLLL

  • im mexican... and none of my friends think that i have a mexican accent bc ive been speaking english all my life basicly but i live surrounded by americans the mexicans in my town are very few but i honestly think u dont have and accent of any sort

  • I'm from toronto..but I'm in school in the states..you definitely have that accent.."you know" lol..I get made fun of for it a ton down here..

  • I'm Canadian, too, and so I can't tell. But I've been wondering the same thing, if Americans could tell that I'm Canadian. I live right on the border though.

  • DEFINITELY Canadian. Definitely Ontario.

  • Absolutely sound like you're from Ontario/eastern prairies. Coming from a maritimer.

  • ur hot/cute as shi. im black i live in LA, ur are the hottest piece of cake ever.

  • @michaelonubah youtube wont get you laid

  • @NICESHITBIATCH I know right!! maybe you would... u better be hotter than her tho... haha

  • Everyone has an accent to someone. Saying, "I don't have an accent" is a bit like saying, "I don't have skin." Somewhere someone thinks you have an accent! Took me a few years living overseas to figure that out. :) (Most English people I met, too, could tell I was Canadian rather than American. I think it's because I grew up on the prairies where we often sound like we're gritting our teeth as we speak.)

  • No, I think most Canadians don't really have an accent. There are just a few word you say differently.like when most Canadians say about. it sounds more like abote or aboat, long O sound for those of us who learned to read through phonics. You are very beautiful BTW.

  • @purity4all of course hey do we all do! It's just candians have evovled to sounding more like americans over time. But even americans have an accent.

  • No, I think most Canadians don't really have an accent. There are just a few word you say differently.like when most Canadians say about. it sounds more like abote or aboat, long O sound for those of us who learned to read through fonics.

  • i lived in canada toronto my whole life and you do not have a canadian accent

  • Why do Canadians sound insecure?

  • @sweiland75 lol cause americans always make fun of our accents well atleast thats what it seems on tv .

  • no i would think your indian....cause you have to be white to be a real Canadian

  • @OneManWolfPak im white and from America am i a real Canadian

  • @00nicklock possibly, America and Canada were created by the same group of people

  • @00nicklock racist

  • @OneManWolfPak racist mutha fuckaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! racism: a disease that you have got!

  • You can always tell right away. It the O's.

  • When Americans hear the real Canadian accent they don't recognize it as one because they spend so much effort in making fun of a Canadian accent that doesn't exist. Canadians do not say "aboot" as Americans seem to think. Also Americans in broadcasting or American actors are taught to talk with a Canadian accent so when they hear Canadians speak they think they speak like Americans. You sound Canadian - don't worry about it. Be proud!

  • you sound american.

  • who cares what you sound like, you are fine as hell girl. If canadians look like this i need to get my ass out of DC :)

  • sounds kinda mid western

  • You sound fine, and look great.

  • yes,northern maine

  • id say you were from either ohio, indiana, or michigan

  • @NorthstarXXXI IM IN MICHIGAN! :D but im moving to texas

  • I couldn't really tell but I am canadian too so maybe I am just use to their accents !!!

  • I'm from Central Ohio, and I wouldn't know you were Canadian at all. :)

  • you're pretty and u have a nice accent :)

  • There were a few words where I could tell that you were Canadian :)

  • You have no accent at all but you push your words together real fast like one of the valley girls in southern California. If you space your words more generously you wil be better understood. What a cute girl!

  • freaking cute

  • You really sound like you from Ontario, or Manitoba or somewhere around there. I've lived in both Provinces and you really sound like your from one of those provinces.

  • Southern ON = Not too much different from accents in Northern NY or Southern Michigan.

Northern ON = Pretty much a Minnesota accent.

Of course it varies from what part of the country you are from.

  • You sounded Cadadian when you said the words "know" and "accent". So yeah I can tell that you are Canadian.

  • haha yeah you have an accent

  • I would not know, you sound american to me!(: by the way, I noticed right away, that you're REALLY pretty... just thought I'd say that..

  • you sound normal to me.

    i'm american

  • yep

  • Everyone has an accent, girl. It defines where you come from. Don't worry about it.

  • You move your heads like Canadians do.

  • OH MY GOD it only snows in winter in most of canada and can be hotter then alot of places in usa in the summer

  • @sims3master101 where i live in the desert it gets to 107 in the summer, i was in canada when there was a bad heat wave and it got up to 99 Fahrenheit, but its the humidity that made it as bad as it was. so it was about as bad as one of those 107 degree days out here, so your right technically

  • a have such a small canadian accent, im in the maritimes, but im like a 5th indian so it has its effects...

  • The "right away" gave it away :)

  • it's slight but it's there, can hear it in words you say like "canadian" where you pronounce it "caneedieen"

  • Not you your black only people who are close to white or white and are third generation

  • yah, cuz u talk quicker then americans.... they talk sssslllllooowww! GO CANADA!
