  • 0:50........female perfection....

  • C'mon.. a power trio from Canada? Who'd believe that ! I loved the hell out of this band then.

  • God i miss those days in America. i was just 20 years old at the time.

not a care in the world. great friends and girlfriends, fantastic music. and a much better time in our country. ^_^

  • at 39 sec. that's my bro. Fred. I have him in one of my vids. hahaha LUVBUG

  • I'm giving away a t shirt for this concert in a contest vid. right now on my channel. LUVBUG

  • @believersunderground Awesome Bug

  • Great video. I love those scenes of the audience, back in a time before everyone became obese.

  • @buzzcrushtrendkill HaHaHa very true and I wonder why that is, maybe because the technology of today does everything for us. I do miss the 70s and 80s they were awesome times.

  • @buzzcrushtrendkill I agree. I long for the good old days of good rock and roll, hot babes, and none of this Poop Daddy Hip Hop crap dominating the airwaves these days.

  • I was going to make a comparison between the crowd in this video and the crowd at ANY Source Hip-Hop Awards, then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Damned! l'da given my left one to be here for this piece of history being made -

  • I was in highschool when this came out. When I hear music like this I wonder what happened??? Where, when and more importantly WHY did the industry change and become what we have today...

  • @1167bigred I'm hoping the creativity will come back, the music industry is all about making fast money for the past 15 years and not concerned about the band taking their time to put out an album based on teamwork, song writing, sound, melody, etc.. To me it seems if a band can make a hit song thats all that counts now.

  • AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

  • Dude m with you in the time machine the 80s were a great time turned 22 in 83 just back from a combat tour in Grenada life was good save room fo me......1983 here I come hair and all!!!!!

  • Amen

  • None of these people realized that this would soon become the final years of "true" rock n roll...

if i make a time machine ever, this is where im going.

  • @Ducks101fan I've always tried to pinpoint & figure out where & when music started to really go wrong & most important why? 80's was so huge , the 70's (imho) were the best of times, so many great acts, but around mid-late 80's somethg started to happen, the industry just changed, some blame it on Rap, i'm sure that was a part of it, but when Rock, became "Classic RocK" i knew it was never gonna be the same again..i'm glad i grew up in the 70's/80's and performed w/ my bands.

  • MAN ´83 I WAS 23 I REALLY MISS THOSE DAYS!!!...NOW AT 51 STILL GET THE SAME BUZZ FROM THIS...BRINGS BACK ALL THE GOOD MEMORIES, LOVE IT AND THE WHOLE ERA!!!

  • All there music was so positive unlike lots of todays....

  • Thank You Triumph for making a kid want to play1

  • what a fucking song!

  • triumph should be considered a non denominational gospel group --- they really speak to the heart and mind

  • 4:04 :)

  • I love these dudes I was at this show everyone got so loaded they didnt realize we got liobsterized

  • Love it Love TRIUMP!!!

  • i got to believe they were the best band to ever to come out of canada saw them twice

  • @stevemac800 yes they were good, but they can not top rush

  • @ponce1968 Speaking purely live as I saw them both, Triumph was better than Rush live. ushwere zombies compared to triumph. Rik Emmett and Nesl Peart would have been fun together as they were the drive of both bands. On a pure talent level,No one plays lead guitar and vocals like Rik Emmett ever...yes I said ever ;)

  • @ponce1968 I agree 100%. Not to take anything away from Triumph, but Rush is/was at a different level. IMO. I'll listen to either though without a problem.

  • If there was ever a perfect live song, this may be it.

  • @c3vettelvr "If there was ever a perfect live song, this may be it." and a perfect live BAND too. I saw them 3 times and always cames up large, but I gotta say, their US Festival 83' set may be the best I ever heard them. Maybe it was because there was no lights, smoke and other stuff. Just the music and Rik was AMAZING! Listen to this guy. Best rock lead guitarist and lead singer at the same time I ever heard. Gil was great too. Listen to "when the lights go down" from this show. Super. :)

  • I was in CA (but No. CA) in 1983..boy, I missed out on this concert.. I LOVE this group..and Rik is not bad to look at either..

I remember a lot of their songs from the 80's

  • One of the best shows I saw in the 80s was Triumph on their Thunder Seven tour. Triumph was so underrated. I hope they do tour again.

  • Killer tune...... NEVER will there EVER be a band like TRIUMPH!

  • Ibanez Artist guitar...sweet.......

  • I remember when these guys played high schools in and around Toronto as did RUSH.

  • i saw them 2xs back in the 80s....83 and again 88 and he really was the WHOLE FUCKIN SHOW....man he just so underated as a player...weather its rock....the blues....classical...or the jazz changes Rik can do it all.....he puts most rock players too shame

  • @TheXXXDB Awesome comment bro.. To me Rik Emmett is the best lead guitarist I ever saw. He was/is amazing and incredible live. Props to Gil also. He was really good at this show.

  • @TheXXXDB Agree bro 100% Rik was incredible live. And yes - he does it all. At THIS show - he crushed the standard metal bands of the day (Crue, VH, Ozzy - who all showed up wasted) Triumph killed all those wasted-oids away this day. Did u see rock n roll machine? OMG :) Oh and have to give props to give Gil Moore - who was great. Search "when the lights go down" at the us festival. He was awesomet.

  • I sure hope they Tour next year..

  • Rik was "off the charts" this day. Amazing... He saw the event and took it - as opposed to Van Halen, Motley Crue and a few other higher level drunk a-hole bands. VH sucked. Tiumph f'n killled. Super tight and by far the best band of weekend imo....

  • Amazing! Triumph killed at the US Festival. Rik was CRAZY good and crisp.

  • immensi.

  • They just don't make them like this anymore.

  • This video is as good as it gets! The words, the music, the crowd, its like the stars all lined up in this song. When I die and go to heaven this is what I imagine it will be. I am young, wild and free. I cant watch this without goosebumps over me as I smile.

  • @therealgunslinger - you and me both dude!

  • I'm young, wild, and I'm free!!

Does any song today say anything like that? Fuck lady gaga.

When did kids forget how to rock?

  • RIK EMMETT..MY HUSBAND AND LOVE SLAVE IF I GET A "NEXT" LIFE. :} DANG...TRUE ROCK N ROLL FOR SURE..

  • Sighs, back when Music Fests were all about having fun!!

    Awesome vid!

  • what a great singer....damn

  • @tinfoilhatter I agree! Rik was unreal good this day!

  • about as under-rated of a band that you can get.

  • And its all because theyre Canadian...people are too busy yacking about Led Zepplin and The Beatles to acknowledge Triumph.

  • @ieetemos4breakfast yea no kidding.. whos Chilliwack, whos April Wine? sad that they arent recognized for how good they are

  • @8FoniksMonkey8 Hahahahahaha!!!! come on Chilliwack?...............How about Frank Marino?

  • @ufomsg1 Yeah no i know there are many, just thinkin off the top of my head. Since basically EVERYONE i have met in the US has no idea who any of these bands are.. the only reason artists now a days are famouse like they are is because of mass media. just think how little know someone like Justin Beiber would be if there was no youtube or television..

  • @8FoniksMonkey8 You forgot Rush and BTO ;)

  • @ConcordBeltCreations ughhh had the chance to see Rush live recently but my parents and i couldnt afford it :( heard it was amazing though! no doubt :P

  • @8FoniksMonkey8 Saw Triumph and Rush live. Love Rush but Triumph was by far the better band live.

  • @ieetemos4breakfast I Agree, Pound for pound, the best rock trio live I ever heard and they were amazing at US Festival. Rik was crazy good.

  • @mattcorrdesign1 Agreed! Triumph was an unreal band live! Rik is the best guitarist/singer combo ever IMO! Bold statement I know - but no one can ever give me a better argument than this guy. And this is live.

  • @aitraining what he does with the mic at 5:20 going from a fade and then going back to the mic at that age takes alot of savy to realize that.still cannot believe less than 5000 views.
