This series has been excellent in helping me understand the basics of Divs and how CSS styles work. I have been banging my head against the wall the last two nights trying to learn how to get stuff aligned properly in Dreamweaver, and you have explained to me exactly what I was looking for in 20 minutes. Thank you!
hey, really need help, im using dreamweaver cs5 trial version. These is no "advanced" in the new div, menu. only see, compound, id, tag, and class or case something. help, anyone? can u do this stuff in dreamweaver 4?
video is blurry, voice needs to be louder, get rid of the annoying sound in the background . on a positive note you have a very nice kind sounding voice which is very important for training
how can I make the content div auto adjustable in height depending on the content? I mean, you can choose auto height, but this doesn't push down the footer div or anything under the content div.
Geoff my man! Thanks so much for creating these killer tutorials and showing all these 12 year olds how it's done LOL. I have learned more from this video serries than anything else, absoloutly love it 5 stars, helped me learn css and get away from all those tables tutorials. Thanks so much.
@jonasnet1 Hahaha! You guys are too kind! As stated above, I'm just doing my thing and hoping people enjoy it. Sounds like you guys got a lot out of it. Here's to settin' the 12-year-olds straight, huh?! :) Cheers! ~Geoff
So, you have created a nested div and positioned it on the left of the 'main' div. Have you tried entering any content ? Because like this the content of the "main" div will be partially hidden behind the new nested div !!!
Good tutorial, sometimes we know good quality tutorials from confusing ones. I learned something and when I learn something It's appreciated. Thanx, excellent vid. Cheers!!
Thank you very much for this tutorial. It is the best tutorial I have seen in recent years. Just a question thou, while you created the "nested layer" (red Div Tag) on the left, you say "the name of my selector is gonna be number sign menu..". Does it mean "#signmenu", or "numbersignmenu"? The reason I am asking is that whatever I named the Div Tag I could not created the red column on the left. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your response in advance
Hey Geoff, I was wondering if you knew how to use css as if it were a frame, like for example if I create a menu that will be used for all the pages in a website, how would I go about "targeting" the links to open in a blank area and leave the div menu intact? Thanks in advance for anything you can suggest.
Hey lepaux, Sorry for not getting back to you. Short answer: Gahh, frames! Real Answer: You might wanna look up something called "iframes" to pull something like this off. Either that, or in DW, create your menu as a library item. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can target the way you used to with oldschool frames. Hope this helps! ~Geoff
