I love this... but Quantum of Solace has to be the worst Bond film since Die Another Day if not in fact even worse.

At least Die Another Day had a proper James Bond plot of massive space lasers... this one some green activist is trying the heinous act of, get this, acquiring 60% of Bolivia's waters supply where he will - dah dah DAA - DOUBLE the price of utilities!!

Ah, no space lasers (I didn't hinge my argument of Bond films needing space lasers in particular) but certainly megalomaniac-al plots that could bring mass destruction or devastating implications at the push of a button.

The UN could sort out that Bolivia thing if they could only be bothered, they're probably more worried about - I don't know - Nuclear Proliferation in the middle east? Now that makes for an exciting plot.

Yes, I suppose technically Die Another Day was worse but that was just a continuing trend and at least it TRIED though it failed.

Quantum of Solace didn't even try, it was thoroughly unpleasant to watch.

Die Another Day - as a film - seem to realise it was shit and thought it would just have some fun which makes it bearable. QoS is so far stuck up it's own arse it vomits itself up.

@magmus2 No, Casino Royale was a lot in the spirit of the original book, the story was rewritten a lot but the spirit was there. As with Timothy Dalton or early Connery. But Quantum was a terrible movie with nothing even resembling what Ian Fleming wrote. Even disregarding that, it's still a REALLY BAD MOVIE. The director have never done action before, and it shows. The story is all over the place and the characters have less personality than the milkman from The Living Daylights.
