  • I loved it and I'm over 25 but I did grow up with video games since Commodore 16. Critics are critics and they don't speak for me. I don't agree with 90% of their "reviews". To each their own. The soundtrack is not to bad either.

  • This is a typical high school kids movie and thats who the audience is intended to be..... If ur an adult ur gonna think its stupid... I saw movie wit my dad he hated it i loved it

  • I didn't like it cause my friends kept telling me it was the best movie ever so expectations were high but soon crushed because it just flat out sucked. Sorry to all those who liked it, but hey no one can like everything.

  • we can RELATE we are young and we know all this movie shows to be love

  • over and over again because it is so super full of all the things that make me smile inside and out i LOVE THIS MOVIE. i have good reason to because i seen myself in miachel cera as scott, and dont we all want to get the girl? well it has the feeling as though you are actually fighting to get girls that you want, if not by fighting her 7 evil exs, then by persuading her that your the right guy.

  • ok the bad reviews a suprising me because they dont actually have any actual knowledge to back up their claims, they just say that based on opinion, and i dont think labeling it as gamer is fully correct. i believe that all people have the possibility of liking this movie, but theres the fact that so much inside it is unrealistic that makes adults shy away and they kids are like whoa..i think as a 15 year old boy i can safely say that this movie made an impact on my life, andd i could watch it,

  • Wait that viewer called it limp also said you can just rewind the video and do it over. Did the guy just not pay attention. Scott came back to life from getting the 1-up. and "rewinding the video" if anybody has actually rewinded there video game, please tell me.

  • @LucienofTheLight Haven't you ever lost a life, and started over because you had another one? Thats the reference.

  • scott pilgrim is the best movie EVR

  • nice bit

  • hii

  • Who honestly listens to critics though nobody really gives a shit they would rather just watch it and get their own opinion of it it over that of some asshole critic who just rants on movies since they have no real life

  • I think Mary is Hott

  • @HCKY30 who doesn't?

  • I think Ramona is Hott

  • My mother loves this movie with a passion, as do I.

    25 and under? Not really.

  • This movie is nostalgia sex, if you don't understand it's your own fault for missing out on the past and today's fastest growing culture.

  • Under 25???? My dad laughed until he cried, IDK what your talking about!

  • 4 people is jealous and gay..

  • Ok scott pilgrim vs. the world was an OK movie people are WAY to hyped about it. I saw it and I thought yeah it was good but not good enough to see 10 times over at the movie theater. It is positively aimed at people around the age of 25 but there are references that crazy ass gamers from a while ago would notice and some casual games would 2. Safe to say its for all ages but average adults would not be interested.

  • I just watched this with my dad, who's 51, he loved it.

  • im in fucking lesbians with this movie...

  • this movie was funny my parents love it and theyre like 43 years old. its amazing they think that people UNDER 25 would like it.,...

  • I'm 19 and I got every reference so...

  • Also, I am only 21, but I consider myself an exception not the norm at knowing that those band names were even video game references in the first place for people my age.

Now bye, I am gonna go listen to 8-bit ninjas- pokemon face again, shits hilarious.

  • The science of "Under 25"

Clash at demonhead, a game from 1989, under twenty five year olds would range from 4 to non born yet.

Crash n' the boys: Street Challenge, game made in 1992, 25 and under year olds would be 8 to 2.

I think I am getting the point across at least mostly.

  • I'm 40 and I'm in lesbians with this movie. And I'm not even a gamer. Such a funny, funny and adorable film.

  • @stargazer0118 Yeah... I'm 42, and have the same feelings. My 17-year-old son loves it too (but I had to tell him about it). :)

  • @stargazer0118 YES! I'm not a gamer either.

  • @benzo546 I'm not saying that NES and SNES were only for the older generation, just saying that those were their golden days. In any case, I think what I've forgotten to say is that I'm 19. I'm not just another older guy commenting on the slow disintegration of all that is gaming.

Overall I just really disliked critics playing it off as just a young movie, when so many other people could so easily understand the references. Even without them it's a great movie

  • @MrTriggerFingerMagoo That simply goes to show it doesn't require knowledge of the references to enjoy it. I'm very glad to hear that your mom loved it without the references :)

  • @chewonmybacca Happy to know, I was actually just sitting their grinning the entire movie at the references alone :D

  • Haha lovely that I got so many responses. By my reference to most of the effects and references coming from the early generations of gaming, I wasn't stating that the references would only apply to those who were of the typical gaming age during those years. I just meant it's stupid to say that this movie would only apply to younger people, when a lot of the references made could and will be understood by the people who were the gaming culture in those times.

  • "Scott if your life had a face I would punch it."

    "Yeah. Wait, what?"

  • receieved while collecting rings. At the same time, it's annoying to have all of games grouped into the same group, without even taking into account the history of gaming. Legend of zelda has taken a lot of different takes since its original presentation, but some of the sounds date back to NES and SNES releases, which could be more understood by the people who lived in those times

  • I want to make a note on this video. It's stupid to assume this will naturally appeal to anyone under 25. In all honesty, our generation, while very game and video orientated, would not understand half the game references going on.

I'm actually quite irritated at the fact that critics casually dismiss this as a younger generation movie, while the gaming references themselves date back to the early ages of NES and SNES. Even the sound when Scott "Get's it " is the same noise that sonic

  • @Kyinl

yeah i would like to point out that there was a man in his 40s sitting next to me who laughed his ass off

  • @Kyinl im 15 and i understood everything in this movie, and if someone out there doesn't know the sound that sonic makes when he acquires rings, i genuinely feel sorry for them.

  • @Kyinl I think your dismissing NES and SNES as consoles for an older generation. I'm thirteen and I understood all the references with ease and so did many of my friends who watched it. Though the references are from older consoles, they aren't obscure like adding the sound effect of an enemy dying from Contra, they use references from famous and well known video games such as street fighter.

  • @Kyinl my mom who is 41 years old LOVES this movie. She doesnt know what shes talking about (vid)

  • @Kyinl I am 19 and i caught all the gaming references as long as you are a gamer no matter the generation you can enjoy this movie :p

  • @Kyinl Ah, thank you. Someone who gets it.

    That's right, FUCK YOU critics!

  • @Kyinl Uhm I highly beg to differ. I'm 14 and I adore it with a passion |:

  • @Kyinl True, True, but im only 12 years old, and i understood all the comedy, but it might be because im a nerd/gamer xD I play old school games all the time, literally my first game i ever played was Sonic and Knuckles (not online), and through it all, i think gamer or not, people will love this movie from the little nerdy jokes, like their band being sex bob-bom (idk how 2 spell xD), to the scene of scott jumping out of the window when Knives was at the door, in my opinion, its the best movie.

  • @Kyinl i loved it im 14

  • @Kyinl I´m 13 and i love the games from the NES,SNES,Sega Genesis,Dreamcast and alot of these games,I love them and no game will be better than the originals from the 80s and 90s,my stupid friends prefer COD crap.

  • Great movie I'm 17 and my dads 49 we both found it hilarious

  • It seems like these people don't actually review movies, just find other movie reviews and go over what they say. Aren't movie critics supposed to have their own opinion instead of blatantly stealing from other websites? I don't actually disagree with the reviews they found and read, I just don't get the point of maholo if they don't have their own opinion.

  • Wait! I'm 26 how the hell did I like this so much?

  • I don't htink you have to get the insanbe amount of references in this movie to dig, but recognizing them sure as hell makes it even more fun.

  • Scott Pilgrims my boy!!!

  • Or if you love to have a fun time and like a movie that the filmmakers put their heart into making not just for the money factor, then this movie will be for you.

All that under 25, gamers, graphic novel adaptation is bullshit. I am not a gamer, don't read graphic novels nor care for their adaptations and i loved this movie. It was a fun experience.

  • great recap, I very much enjoyed this movie, which is odd as I've never liked Michael Cera previously. I do feel a little shoe-horned by the "under 25" comment, being 30 years old and a lot of the references were to games I played and bands I listened to in high school, but ah well.

Otherwise, good vid and great job.

  • i never liked the director past movies...

  • I really wanna see this right now! =]

  • Great reviews, signing up for more!

  • Great review! Definitely going to see Pilgrim

  • It's one of those movies where it can either be incredibly awesome or ridiculously ridiculous. I have my fingers rossed for the former ;-)

  • Looks interesting but not sure I'll catch this move though.

  • Well, hooray! Lets all just watch it anyways!

  • This movie looks cool! Rock on!

  • What happened twiyt?????????????? Fuck this bullshit!
