  • you have some great stuff here

  • some really good stuff here

  • I'm pretty sure that this same music was used for one of the trailers for 2012.

(Probably because both are scary, and have large amounts of liquid travelling at you in slow motion.)

  • Koolaid overflow.

  • This is the only movie that has ever effectively made me have to sleep with a light on.

  • this is the best horror trailer stilll today. instead of showing scenes of pointless voilence, this trailer creates a unsettling atmosphere that leaves you uncomfortable and gripped.

  • The music, as well as the lack of an announcer, makes the trailer.

It's more disturbing here than it is in the actual movie (where the scene is replayed at least 3 times).

  • This video should have been called "Premenstrual tension".

  • @SaturnFT good one!

  • I was not expecting that!

  • 0:56

Hey! WHO BROKE THE KOOLAID STORAGE TANK?

  • This one trailer is a great deal more unsettling than most modern horror films. Subtlety is a lost art!

  • this is my favorite trailer.

    single shot, beautifal

  • this trailers GAY SON!

  • this trailer's great.

    @thatswhatshesaid290 lol

  • That couldn't have been real blood that they used, was it?

  • This trailer is very creepy and bizarre.

  • When I was a kid, I used to have a toy that, when you flipped it upside down, made the exact sound found throughout this clip.

  • ...god damn, those "eyes" above the elevator...!

  • @nicholaswright2006

THANKS now I can't look at this scene and not see the "eyes". You made this 100 times more creepier for me

  • Hmm, this music was also used in the trailer to 2012 (movie)...

  • looks like great family fun

  • top 5 horror movie of all time but I dont know what it is really about. its a deep movie

  • Ha, ha, ha! Now I'm paranoid! :D

  • only thing that could have had that more creepy is a person just standing in the middle of the floor looking at you after the wave of blood.

  • @e7242 I think its much creepier without a person. With a person, you have eyes looking back at you, thus you have a focus. A focus brings your attention to one part of the scene, and makes you ignore the rest of it. Without the focus, youre lost in the chaos of all that cascading blood.

  • @mundanewarrior

That is a very good point.

  • Correction: they didn't allow blood in trailers approved for all audiences.

  • Kubrick Convinced the MPAA that the liquid was rusty water, as they didnt allow blood in trailers at the time. Good Job Kubrick!

MPAA HOW YOU BE SO DUMB

  • this trailer is like Inception... it mindfucks you!

  • @noreligion777 Inception is the greatest movie of all time. Sheer, epic, mind-blowing awesomeness. :D

  • @patFpeteOandyBjoe and you forgot about confusing.... I saw that movie like 6 times and I still don't understand it.... why the heck do they go through 3 levels of dreams? can't they just skip one or something?

  • @momo4895 it is confusing, i didn't get it til i watched it again... okay so their job is to plant an idea in Robert Fischer's brain, but they can't directly tell him the idea or it won't purely be his idea. So they have to go through the dreams and have events happen that will lead him to think of the idea himself. I think they can't skip levels because that's just the way it is.. no other explanation. it just is. ;]

  • @patFpeteOandyBjoe well that's stupid.... I like the movie just not the plot...

  • @momo4895 that... doesn't make sense but okay xD

  • It is true that some trailers can actually go down in history as being well-known and iconic short companions to their films; if all advertisers thought this way we as the movie-going American public could go into every film with our artistic expectations set high and not blown to stylistic smithereens with today's trailers. THIS TRAILER is a prime example of this concept.

[a couple others are the trailers to A Clockwork Orange (1971) and Psycho (1960)]

  • Great trailer for a great film all this trailer does plain and simple is show this movie is going to be terrifying and awesome. Which it was. Gives me goosebumps when i see this

  • damn that gave me chills

  • @Pookie791:

Me, too. Subtlety is such a lost art today. And horror movie trailers are the worst, the show all scariest parts before you even see the damned film.

This trailer is far more effective because you just don't know what to expect by watching this alone.

  • That's odd. The blood usually gets off on the second floor.

  • What is the name of the song used in this?! I really want it.

  • the part that scared me the most was when the kid met those two creepy ass twins.

  • What's this

    Movie even about

  • @icebreakersix1nine I don't thnk anybody knows.

  • I want to drink some Red Rum!

  • sinister background music. Sounds like a swarm of flies. Is this an excerpt from the electronic score that initially was supposed to serve as the soundtrack before Kubrik switched to classical compositions?

  • REDRUM!!!!!!!!!!

    Oranges!

    Tony!

    Topiaries!

  • Trailers should still be like this these days.. Now they put way too many scenes that when you go to watch it, you already know what's going to happen

  • That's how trailers suppose to be, keep the audience guessing. These dayz they show to much of the movie in a trailer before you see it.

  • Wow... Lotsa blood... REDRUM

  • the original one is the best one

  • Actually most of them are remake. I am glad I finally find an original one

  • me too!

  • @yes4me:

I have the 2-disc DVD edition. This trailer was actually shown in the theaters. So different from today's trailers, huh?

  • This trailer has been put on Youtube so many times! LOL Not complaining, just making an observation. It's actually a *credit* to the trailer that people are affected by it that much to put it up!
